This is where you are perhaps getting a little confused as to where the fault is. Content doesn't reside in the widget, it resides in the database. The widget simply pulls the content to display as required. As I mentioned above, a blank page is probably a php error for which you need to look at the php log to see what is causing it. Does this occur on your test site before you rolled it out to your live site? If it didn't what's different between your test site and live site?

It's a template, it doesn't touch the content so it's not possible to delete your pages by installing the template. It's like saying that installing a theme deleted all the forum posts.
Blank page with no IPS branding is typical of a php error. You would need to check the php logs to see what's going on.

I'm a bit of a noob, if there is anyone here able to create a nice clean "digest" template for me I'm willing to pay for your time. I just want the newsletter to go out HTML with a header and footer, each post should pull in the preview image and a short summary, bing bam boom....

I'll be happy to share my template if I can work it out. PM me the other one you saw, it'll at least give me some ideas.

I'm happy to pay more for a responsive developer rather than less for a non-responsive one.

I have refactored the email stuff to use the bulkmail replacement variables, which makes the form more powerful and sexy:D and which also will provide more replacement variables then only the 2 which i added in 1.0.1 RC1 .
 

I don't think I can "insert" the tags into the tags field, trying but can't manage to make it work. But it will be there when the article is saved.

I'll try to fix the tags issue today.

@NoGi We have the advanced tags & prefix here and both work together.

I use articles for static content that is useful as reference. The discussion continues in original topic and those posts show as comments in the article anyway.

I like the way it works now by showing topic replies as comments in the article. I just didn't want a new topic created on promotion which ends up causing duplicate topics.

Another setting is needed to also choose what to do depending on if you promote the first post of the topic, or any other in the topic.
If you promote the first post, then what NoGi said works just fine, I don't see why it would need to be different.

Can't the plugin just have an ACP setting to choose what to do?
1. Use the existing topic as the topic for the promoted article comments instead of creating a new topic when saving the new article.
2. Whatever other option. I believe is not use the existing comments at all.

Tags? No, it doesn't add tags. I'll add for the next version, later next week.

Does this work with Adv Tags and Prefix? I use that in my sales forum and have a prefix that is SOLD. I'd like the topic to close if the prefix is changed to that.
