SF_Ronin reacted to Adriano Faria in Bulk upload files in Downloads
It was removed on IPS4. You can bulk upload on frontend now. It’s a group setting. Edit your group and enable it.

Yes. That is what your item description says the product can do.
You can set the minimum, but IPB doesn't honor those settings. It doesn't work. Unfortunately, this was the selling point for me.
Where do we go from here @Makoto ? Thanks.

At this point if you're not here to get support, I'm going to have to ask that you leave this topic, as this thread is for clients of mine that need help and are actually willing to let me help them, not slander someone because they couldn't respond to your support request regarding a likely third-party plugin or server incompatibility issue (not an application stability issue) immediately due to serious real-life circumstances.
You've gotten your word in. You think you've hurt me and probably take pride in that, but I think the responses your review received speaks volumes,
I do my best to provide the best support I can, and I think that speaks for itself. I don't know where your rudeness and toxic hostility stems from but I don't really have patience for it. There's enough of that going on in the world right now. I won't be responding to you any further.
That said, for anyone else who uses this application and has found it useful, I do appreciate anyone who can take the time to leave your honest experiences in a review. I'm always here to help if you need it. 🙂

Not sure why, but Linked Accounts seemed to be the cause. Will reach out to @Adriano Faria directly for further digging.
Thanks for the PM @HeadStand

SF_Ronin reacted to CoffeeCake in How do I add a moderator to one or several forums ?
You can add individual accounts or groups as moderators from ACP > Members > Moderators. From there you can set restrictions like certain forums or certain features.

No, this uses MapQuest for searching for locations, and free map providers to display the map. The map(s) you want to use can be choosen in the ACP (almost all of these)

SF_Ronin reacted to Martin A. in Community Map
It was indeed. 1.0.3 is submitted which addresses the old membermap URLs. It will do a 301 redirect from /membermap/* to /communitymap/*.

SF_Ronin reacted to Michael.J in Auto Welcome Support
I have a new version that fixes the immediate welcome and a background queue to remove the legacy field rather then upgrade step.
Those who are available to test this, particularly those upgrading with lots of members. Please PM me.

@HeadStand Any ETA for the newsletter and 4.5? Thanks!

SF_Ronin reacted to Adriano Faria in Invite System
Reading the error, I also see mentioning another resource: newsletters_hook_NewsletterRegister
I would see if this one is updated because I am pretty sure that mine is.

SF_Ronin got a reaction from TheWorldNewsMedia.org in Mobile Communities App & Monetization Idea
I don’t run ads, but if understand the issue correctly, the current app doesn’t properly distinguish between mobile and desktop/laptop. Apparently this is a terms of service issue for Google. As they have different rates and ads for desktop and mobile.
i could be mistaken though. Someone more abreast of the issue could probably tell you more.

SF_Ronin reacted to Rikki in Can't login to app
Apologies for the problems. I was finally able to diagnose the cause of the login issues, but unfortunately they cannot be fixed until 4.5.2 (and new app builds). That should be available in the next few days. That will solve both the failed logins and the 'invalid redirection uri' error.

I can access and view your community on the app, so I wonder its an admin user related issue..?

SF_Ronin reacted to Nicholas Cole in Can't login to app
so, after a very helpful guide from @SF_Ronin I’ve managed to get my community up and running and logged in fine. I’m on IOS
It’s a bit buggy, I can’t access forum threads from the main list, I receive an error and the app closes and returns to the main list of my communities. I can access topics and threads from the featured items on the home page though.
Commerce appears to work as do subscriptions and custom built pages.
Looks smart, haven’t tested notifications though.
Update: mobile notifications don’t appear to be working.

SF_Ronin reacted to whitetigergrowl in Removal of $15 Domain Change
I don't understand why there is a $15 domain name change fee and why you can only change it once every 6 months free. It doesn't cost IPB anything for me to change my domain name. To me this is the equivalent of an ATM fee when you withdraw money, except in this case from your own bank.
For those worrying about fraud or anything else, as long as only one domain is tied to that license it shouldn't change anything.
So yeah, this is one thing I don't understand, see it as nothing more than a money grab from IPB, and serves no real benefit to the consumer and serves no benefit to IPB other than financially. IPB is the only forum software that I see that does this. I may be missing one, but most don't charge to change the domain.
Charging twice a year if you want to keep downloading things and keep certain features of your forum going is expensive enough. But if you decide to change your domain for any reason, now it costs you an extra $15 for literally no reason other than for the sake of changing it. If some are still worried about potential fraud or hijacking or something, other things could be put into place to prevent it.
This I think is probably one reason people go more to Xenforo and others is because of this. Some people change domain names often while they struggle to find something that works for them. With them you don't get charged to change a domain. Period. You can renew today, then in 5 days or a month or 3 months if you choose to change your domain you simply change it. You don't get charged $15 every time you change it.
This is a hindrance. It serves no tangible benefit other than to make money. IPB never did it for years with no problems. But in recent years started to. And considering how much people already pay for renewals, I don't think it's too much to ask to remove the $15 fee. Period.
It's literally one of the most pointless fees I've seen on here. I love IPB, but that is one thing that absolutely needs to go. No one is handling the domain change other than the consumer. Unless customer service needs to handle it, there should be no fee for it. I'm literally getting charged just to change my domain. Absolutely insanity.
And like I said prior, if some think it's a way to prevent fraudulent actions, there are plenty of other ways to do that. As well, after the 6 months your domain would be open to be changed anyways which changes nothing in regards to possible fraud.
So yeah, it's really gotta go. It's just a pure money grab and is something no one else does. So what's the logical reason for it here? Costs keep going up, as forum popularity keeps going down. I don't think those 2 will go hand in hand very well. So we need to be mindful of things like that this are really pointless fees and serve to benefit no one other than IPB.

SF_Ronin reacted to Tennman in Global Rename of Clubs to Groups in ACP
I think it t would be useful if version 4.5 would have an easy way to rename Clubs to Groups by just moving a slider or ticking a box in the ACP instead of manually editing each instance where Club(s) is found in the language file. Would anyone like to see that?
I've not used clubs with success in my community because members don't seem to get clubs because they are use to groups on FB.

Rebuild the cache (ACP -> System tab -> Support -> Something isn't working correctly). Probably something temporary.
