Hisashi got a reaction from DawPi in IA Image Moderation aggressive
The system only prevents you if you try to upload to the server, not from an external link.

Thank you - as mentioned, this feature will be added next time I work on the application (no idea when that will be)

And for those who would like the notice to only appear when the user is in breach of the criteria then the following added to your custom.css will take care of that - no new functionality needs to be added:
#neapp_contentlimits_editorcount_display.ipsMessage_warning{ display:none; }

Hisashi got a reaction from SUBRTX in Search mobile improvements
Hello,
When the user with a cell phone goes to search, he is taken to the advanced search page, getting there the page looks very long and "polluted" on a mobile device, due to the amount of information, it could reduce the layout as follows.
Simpler and faster for the user, keeping the content type.

Hisashi reacted to Ryan Ashbrook in Search - Title Boost
Items where the search term is found in the title will show higher up in the results list than items where the search term only appears in the body of content when sorting results based on Relevancy.
The higher the number, the higher those items will show in the results.

Hisashi got a reaction from SeNioR- in PHP8 will be the minimum version from November 2022
Here the system informs, see in my case:
Edited: This also varies from server to server.

Hi. That's not what I meant. I meant when you get a message on dashboard or by email saying you should change to PHP8, there's no mention that if you do, you need to also manually update the Cron syntax on your server.

Assumption made:
the notification is generated by a background task on the relevant site Theory:
Task method is set to CRON The CRON task itself is using PHP 7.4.x for PHP, while the site itself is using a different version Resolution:
Modify the CRON details in your scheduler -

Hisashi reacted to Matt in PHP8 will be the minimum version from November 2022
As you may have noticed, we've been doing a lot of work to prepare Invision Community to use PHP8 as the minimum version.
If you are an Invision Community Cloud client, then you do not need to worry about any of this, and can happily click out of this topic.
For those who host Invision Community on their own servers, then please read on.
PHP7 is now end of life and from November, PHP will no longer offer security updates. PHP8 is a major update which brings many changes including how errors are either logged and means that what was a harmless notice or log entry is now a fatal error which Invision Community cannot capture.
We have introduced the application and plugin scanner to ensure that your site is not "bricked" (unrecoverable from a fatal error) when you upgrade to PHP8 although you currently have the option to re-enable any disabled applications or plugins.
From the November 2022 release, we will require PHP8.0 as the minimum version. If you are currently using PHP7 then you must contact your host and plan your PHP8 upgrade to ensure compatibility with Invision Community from November onwards.
We are rolling out dismissible AdminCP banners to those who are currently on PHP7.
If you are unsure what version of PHP your server is running, simply log into your Admin CP then navigate to System > Get Support and check out the PHP version block.
The November release of Invision Community will also mean that you are no longer able to re-enable plugins the application scanner disables. We continue to work on this tool to refine its error checking and logging verbosity.
If you have any questions, please let me know below.

Rather than deleting topics when you resolve your issue, it is better to comment with how you resolved the issue. This way, as a community, we help other individuals who may be searching for the same answer or may help you find another way of doing it that you didn't think of.

Hisashi got a reaction from GazzaGarratt in Feedback about the new search bar
Hello,
I'm starting to get used to the simplicity of the new search bar, but there's one thing that bothers me, although it's not a problem.
Desktop users are having a bit of a hard time searching because they aren't paying attention when selecting the location of content.
They end up not having a good search experience, due to a simple lack of attention. And it gets worse when your theme is dark.
Sometimes the user is looking for a video, but is in another app and ends up being filtered automatically.
How to solve this?
Make the menu appear automatically when clicking on search bar, as it was in past.
So the user will quickly know where to look for your content.

Hisashi reacted to Chris027 in Feedback about the new search bar
One additional follow up comment on this after using it for a couple weeks.
I hate it and it makes no sense to me. When people in my community search for something, they couldn't care less which part of the site it comes from. they want information about the topic of the search. Plus, they have no clue that my platform, IPS, has different sections titled Pages, Topics, etc...
We need the ability to tailor this search bar to our own needs.

Hisashi got a reaction from SeNioR- in [Bug 4.7.1] Error when trying to delete a report
Really, it looks like the problem has been fixed in 4.7.2.
My community is running 4.7.1

Hisashi got a reaction from SeNioR- in Remove all guest posts from entire forum
This is strange, because here to publish it is necessary for the user to complete the registration to send the post. Do you have any active settings that are allowing this.
I only see this method to clear the content:
ACP > Members > Content Moderation > Spam prevention > Delete Guest Content

Hisashi got a reaction from WP V0RT3X in Discord with a new Forum module! Is this the end of the forums?
It's so horrible it's funny haha
At most this is just a complement to enrich your community, which I find super welcome, improving how you organize things.
I even adopted it as a support area, you can organize it by department in one place, which I thought was great.
Other than that, it's all very bad and simple.

Hisashi reacted to WP V0RT3X in Discord with a new Forum module! Is this the end of the forums?
Forums are dying because they don't adapt to the new way of consuming content and communicate with other people.
Whether IPS, XF, vB, wBB, ... it's just not fun to use them on mobile, it's way too cumbersome. Besides, a responsive layout can't compete with something designed specifically for these devices.
I mean just look at this, nothing more to say.
Next point, why should I sign up on a forum when I'm already on Discord or wherever? And all my friends are already there too?
Forums will always have their place in some genres like support or other special interrest niches and for oldschool users who prefer desktop computers, but that are minorities.

Hisashi got a reaction from Senior2323 in IPS 4.7.2 final major problem
What I see here, that clients are outraged by the company's lack of transparency in relation to aggressive blocking of their apps/plugins, they should have had a warning before proceeding with the update, that's what everyone is commenting on.
Many users are dependent on third-party apps to make their community what it is today, and that has become a big issue now.
Honestly, after all these reports, I'm zero excited to update my community now, I'll wait for all this puera to subside.
Good luck to the team in having to deal with this whole complaint, something that could have been avoided.
