I do not think that's a concern as the Fluid view, though a new way of browsing, is showing the standard topic list view when doing so. The Grid view already existed in 4.0 - we just moved the setting to enable it.

I need to ask: will this be integrated to other apps (like Downloads, Pages and 3rd-party) or is this just a Forums thing? I mean, the sidebar block itself, where you can select multiple forums to list topics.

This is the first blog entry by @Daniel F and he was a bit nervous writing it. I am sure he'll hate me saying that
But I think he did a great job and the feature will be really useful for those who heavily use our Downloads app.

Blog is one area where a member "owns" their section (their blog) so it makes sense they can customize that section.

The inevitable question: why this nice sidebar only in Blog ?

They show anywhere the 'guest teaser' does, which includes the comments sections of all of the other apps.

The new change looks nice. The appearance of Social Sign would increase convenience for us by faster login with Facebook integration.

The point of this one was that having the sign in buttons in-context where the editor box normally is increases signups. We have tested this on live sites and saw an immediate increase in signups so we know it works.

So, if I allow people to sign up with FB, or Google... I can still moderate them?  Also, I currently use your spam service, email and admin validation and I add an Occupation field they must fill in - it's a unique site and it would be hard to make up an occupation.  Can I do this with 4.1?

You still have total control over who joins your community even if you enabled social media logins. Don't be afraid to experiment with new technology
