We do not publicly disclose how spammers are identified because it would only give those who wish to circumvent the protections more information as to how to go about it.
We use information from many sources (Stop Forum Spam, SBL, etc.) as well as Invision Community installations that report back to the spam service to devise a score that represents the probability the user is a spammer. As with any system, there can be false positives. You can either work with the user to register their account (i.e. manually from the AdminCP to "pre-register" the account for them), or you can submit a ticket and we can take a look on our end and make a determination as to whether or not to remove the block against the user. Unfortunately, however, we can't really get into "how it works" outside of that.

i upgraded my test install and it seems to be working fine.
But it would still be nice to have an official update...

Using the "My Activity Streams" option there's an option to "Create New Stream"...
There should be an option to locate all the threads that have zero replies. Then you can reply to all threads that have none and improve engagement.
I asked support about it but they said that they used to have this option but pulled it for some reason. I looked in the Marketplace but couldn't find a solution.
Does anybody know if there is one?

Can you please add a 'lang' parameter to the Pixabay API request? And add it as class property, so we can overwrite it using hook.

Please add the ability to add a poll to a pages record or by itself as a record. I run a news site, forums are not part of a local news site in general, but the ability to add a poll would be fantastic. Since the software is sold now by app basis, pages would be deserving of this ability imo.

The current version of IPS generates Schema.org tags automatically. I have a few suggestions to improve this feature.
These tags are automatically generated in the Pages app, but all databases receive the "Article" schema.
For example, if my database is a database with books, it still receives an "Article" schema at the end of the page, whereas a "Book" schema would be more appropriate.
To solve this, I customized our "Books" database template to use "microdata", so our books have the correct Schema tags. So, we end up with two schemas for the record, one saying that it is a book and another saying it an article.
So, I'd prefer to disable the Schema.org tags generated automatically by IPS per database. I don't know if the current version has this feature already. If not, that is my first suggestion, for advanced cases where we'd prefer to configure microdata manually with a custom template.
Also, for database with news, the "NewsArticle" schema would be more appropriate, so maybe a configuration to select between Article/NewsArticle?
My second suggestion is regarding the "description" tag, that is missing. It would be great if we could configure it somehow, e.g., pointing out which field stores the article description. If empty, fill it with the meta description tag. And, if that is empty as well, get the first sentence from the article.
Anyway, just my two cents.

Whelp, that appears to be that. Not much incentive to carry this forward. Consider this app to be in maintenance mode from here on out. I imagine I will make sure its compatible with 4.5 whenever that hits, and bug fixes if needed of course, but any new features/dev would not be the best use of my time.

@Claudia999's search crawler hitch got me rolling and once that started a whole lot of other stuff came out of it. This is best described as part one, I still have half a list of things left to do but this will, as per usual, never get released if I keep adding and adding - that plus the fact there are only nine of you using this plus I need to step away from this just to clear my head for a bit 🥴
We'll leave the rest for later on, but tomorrow? You'll enjoy the changelog 🍺🍕

Just a heads up that Social Search 5.0 will be kicked out in the not too distant future.
@Claudia999's problem was primarily a search bot gone absolutely mad coupled with what I suspect was a brief period where Advanced Tags and Prefixes was broken from an IPS update and that left some malformed tags which were then crawled, stored, and now those search urls are being run again by the various bots.
To that end, I've filtered the bots as much as one can - that's using the IPS bot detection (which is pretty low key) coupled with a few hard checks for 'bot', 'spider', and 'spyder' in the user_agent as a final check prior to storing the search. Outside of that not a lot I can do.
A few other tweaks and pokes, maybe a new thing, maybe. Out when it's out.

1) Do you plan a counter in the menu how much members are in chatrooms as described by @AlexWebsites?

2) I think all users should be in the "Who's online"-list. Could you implement a setting if users can be anonym in chatroom or not?
3) We don't want to have chat messages in search, activity and so on. Is it possible?
4) If an user enters a chatroom all old messages should be killed. The chatroom should be empty. Is it possible?

Members list don't exist, its only a search function on IPS, If I charged $5 then it will be this only with no updates no requests, the only time it will get any updates is if it didn't work when IPS update their software and it made mine broken, Like all my other apps and plugins I choose my prices with what I think it's worth and worth my time to take all requests on board and then update it to the users request ( if I can make it happen that is and this has a lot of potential ), You could send me a request and I could spend a whole day working on it, Now for something I charged $5 for is not something I want to spend days working on, $5 to my currency is like £3 then take away the fees from IPS and PayPal and that's not even a cup of coffee from costa

1. I asked for access on October 25. Please look back through this thread. If you had an issue with giving access, you should have said so immediately, not waited 10 days to ask me for an update... when I specifically said that I would like access.
2. I did fix the error you were getting. It is still unrelated. And why is "fix" in quotes? The error you posted was fixed. If you are putting it in quotes, you are calling me a liar. I will not tolerate people questioning my honesty or my capability.
3. I did NOT ask for access after you requested a refund. Please go back and read the thread. I asked for it WEEKS AGO. Please stop trying to make me look bad, this is just ridiculous.
