The more pages you send to Google to crawl, the more pages Google has to split its resources over. Google will have a finite "crawl budget" for your site - how much resources it will spend crawling your site. If you send Google a ton of links to crawl that are low quality, you ultimately take resources away from Google crawling your higher quality content. You will find that as usual, it's quality over quantity.
You are incorrect about profiles not being included in the sitemap (there is an option to toggle it off in the AdminCP - make sure it's enabled).

I have run an experiment for over a month. I have increased the number of entries in one sitemap from 500 to 1500 and have added lastmod date to the sitemap index that contains the last modification date of the newest entry in the sitemap (and NOT the timestamp of sitemap generation). Result: there was a slight increase in page indexed by Google, BUT there was no change in organic search traffic. 
For me it is not worth just increasing the number of pages in index if there is no influence on traffic. That's why I have given up to "optimize" the sitemap. Can somebody here give a prove that number of pages in Google index correlates with organic search traffic from Google? I mean the traffic is the goal at the end of the day and not the number of indexed pages.

The question is, has your organic traffic gone up with more indexed pages from your new sitemap?

Is it possible to hide votes and views up until certain date? Can you setup many competitions at once? Is it hardcoded to be monthly competition or date can be set?
Very interested in this app, I do have yearly photo competition that I currently do with the help of Pages and Forums, but having a dedicated app can be much smoother! However, I definitely prefer to not be able to view the number of votes before the competition ends. Even if author can be hidden it will be good. Basically, options to avoid subjective votes based on personal sympathy. 

I think most of the discussion here is focused around Pages as an app, not pages as landing, ad, etc. I.e. most people hope for full IPS.Pages app functionality - databases, custom fields, view templates, etc. I think this clarification needs to be made to avoid someone purchasing your app and in result not receive what he is expecting. 

This is what we need also. Just run a contest as a one-time-action and then pause till next contest ist planned. There should be a history for the previous contests with winners and prizes. But there should not be any "automatic" contest each month.

So if I just wanted to run a one-off contest for several weeks and then turn it off can I do that?
We normally run an annual contest each year. Voting spans several weeks. Then we pick a winner and send prizes. The contest comes back the next year. Do you see any limitations? I already purchased and installed so I am trying to figure out how to adapt what I was doing to this.

@Matt @bfarber guys please take note. You did a real disservice with putting all translation in one pile. Please consider adding at least an option to filter admin / public / admin+public shared strings. That would make it so much better than what we have now.
Nobody in their right mind would translate ACP which if I remember correctly from 3.4 days is like 2/3 of the whole suite while forums makes up about 1/3 or total strings.

No. I have a one-level category structure. I do not need "container" or parent category.

No. There are three lines that are commented out. The third one is for the block. The other two are for the main view.

There are two issues with the plugin:
Manage Features -> Delete does not respect permissions. The owner of the club is able to delete the feature AND move all the contents of the club in any other forum on the site. This would make a big mess as the topics are just merged somewhere in the community and this cannot be redone. Can you please make this optional? Deleting features is already a default option as well as reordering.  Change Type. If a group the owner belongs to is not allowed to create clubs (no types are allowed) then the window is empty. There should be a check if changing club type makes sense.

It was a feature in previous IPS Chat version. In the main menu where Chat tab is, there was a number of currently active users in the chat. If there is nobody in the chat, then there is just a "Chat" if there are two users, then the menu tab looks like "Chat (2)".
