Steve Herschbach Posted October 23, 2019 Posted October 23, 2019 (edited) I don’t think most of my users ever scroll down far enough to even know there are custom emoji for the forum. Edited October 30, 2019 by Steve Herschbach DSystem, zyx, Cyboman and 2 others 4 1

WP V0RT3X Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 Me too, most users don't like 'em anyway. They are simply ugly and they wanted their koloboks back.
Sledge FTB Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 We're struggling with the same issue. Even the "Replace :short_codes: with emoji?" and "Replace text with emoji?" do not work as expected when turning off default smileys. Putting the custom emoji's on top (favorable) or being able to disable some of the default categories would make a huge difference. Steve Herschbach and Sonya* 2

I put quite a bit of time into the custom emoji, and they stopped getting used after I enabled the native mode. I had the basics already and it helps enforce cross platform compatibility. Anyway, what I am really hoping is the custom set gets listed first in an update. Sledge FTB 1

The only reason one would add custom smileys, is because you want them to be used. It doesn't make any sense to list them miles away in the dungeons of the smileys. Steve Herschbach and WP V0RT3X 2
Sledge FTB Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Hey @Matt, do you have any more thoughts on this matter? Or - in general - what is the regular way of getting such ideas within the IPS radar? Regardless if it gets implemented or not, any IPS response is preferred over just praying. Management Matt Posted November 4, 2019 Management Posted November 4, 2019 I'll bring it up with the team. It sounds reasonable to me. Cyboman, Adriano Faria, Sledge FTB and 4 others 6 1
Adriano Faria Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Yes, they started to use tags a few years ago to define status of requests but they stopped it. All you can is try to get attention from others and make them express here (in other words, reply in a positive way). Things can happen. Sledge FTB 1
jair101 Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 I want to highlight that there are use cases when the default emojis should be on the top 😉 On my community, I prefer the old and outdated custom emojis at the bottom. This way people will slowly convert to the newer ones without me having to deal with the drama that unfolds when you disable the old emojis. Putting the old ones on top will be like there are no newer ones at all 🙂 In a nutshell: we need an option to organize the categories as we perfer. Luuuk and Cyboman 2

Exactly. Option to have custom emoji at the top would make so much more sense. I also feel it would be good to be able to choose which emoji appear in the emoji box. Obviously all emojis could still be used on the site, as people could use the built-in emoji keyboard on their device. But in the emoji box in the editor, we don't really need 100s of flags and symbols to be loaded every time - would be nice if we could just select which emojis to show in the emoji box in the editor, since a tiny fraction of them get used.
