Hi all, I'm surely missing something, but I am trying to set up subscriptions, but restricted to certain usergroups. I wish to do this initially for testing purposes. When launching proper, subscriptions should be unavailable to guests. I also need to a way to remove access to subscription services for some members (those banned from their use). The purpose of the subscription scheme is to assign a secondary group to allow access to a community add-on feature. (Two levels of subscription, actually.) Was wondering how comments within the blogs here are tied into the forum sections and not separated from each blog entry. Tried searching but, my search-fu is quite weak. Is this a custom-coded thing or am I missing a setting somewhere in the admin side of things?

Tags make other topics appear in Similar Content widget that use the same tags and tags are also used in <meta name="keywords" content="tag">. What would be the purpose of Subforums other than grouping topics compared to predefined Tags? Predefined Tags could be made to function like Subforums if implemented properly. The Fluid View widget could use predefined Tags with multi-select checkboxes. If using both, we end up selecting a subforum and assigning a tag (or two) to new topics. Most often, the tag name is the exact same as the subforum (duplication of data). This results in too many data points that may degrade performance due to table joins. …

Hello -- If I wanted to have all new signups hit a page as part of registering where they either pick the default "free" member level or one of a couple paid subscription levels, is there a way to do so? How do I create a free subscription? Just create a new subscription and set prices at zero? What happens to existing "free" members? Thanks! Eric

So a member required Account Deletion via the (Account Settings > Privacy and Security tab), which I accepted. However, although the user name is gone from posts he has made, an edit he made to one of these posts still shows "Edited x hours ago by..." and his name. Is this intentional? If user data are deleted, why not the edit info?

Does the site map that is automatically generated include user/member profiles? What about tags? It seems like it doesn't but maybe I'm missing something. I've got a massive amount of system log errors which I would assume are slowing down my site. How do I deal with them? Is there a way to delete these logs? I don't think its that serious as all the errors are the same surrounding guest or something. Or do I need to fix whatever is triggering this log entry and how do I do that when I'm not a coder.

I would like to display a list view of upcoming events instead of just for the current month. The Help Guide shows an option for the Calendar default layout that includes 'Stream of upcoming events.' Yet in the ACP, that option is gone and instead there are radio buttons for Overview, Current Month, Current Week and Current Day. What happened to the stream of upcoming events? Was it replaced by the sidebar block 'Upcoming Events' which looks as elegant as lima beans mixed with cottage cheese?

I have a members group that is free and the default when someone registers. And I have a paid "premium" members group at $9/month. If I want to move a user manually via the ACP into the paid members group so they get those benefits, will they get notifications that they need to pay? Or will they just basically be in the paid group for free forever?

I'm about to send my monthly newsletter. Log Statistics in AdminCP/Email Settings are deactivated. Just sent a test e-mail only to me, and all links in it are click.pstmrk.it-links. Has anything changed here, are e-mails send with Postmark now and clicks analyzed? I haven't seen any announcement for this, also in the Release notes, and it is also important because of GDPR. I am currently looking at building connections between two communities but do not know where to start for this project. Both are niche sub-cultures in the same hobby and look to bolster the other in focused topics primarily as a information sharing knowledge base. Essentially one site is a "Wikipedia " and supported forum whereas another is a product focused community. One site needs to have data available on the other, how can I go about automating this? For notifications I enabled “follow content” after I made the first post in the club. As a test another person replied to that post but I didn’t receive any notifications. The option for follow discussions send me: a notification when new content is posted is selected.
