Looking at my forum (I inherited it, so I dont' know all the history), it has somethings secured with .htaccess files that appear to have originated from an IPB script or install. The reason I say that is that they start off with "#<ipb-protection>". I also have search a bit and it looks as if perhaps in the past in the ACP there was a place to configure htaccess? I set up a minty fresh test install of IPB and in it I don't see a single htaccess file. There is also zero mention of htaccess in the installation guide or in ACP that I can find. Am I not looking in the right place? Has what htaccess delivered been replaced with another method or practice? …

I see that subsequently invited members gain access to previous comments within the conversation. And, unless I am mistaken, there is no way to prevent anyone who is part of the conversation from inviting others to join in. Am I missing something here? I'd hope there is way to prevent this behavior. Thanks.

1. Is the Support Requests system suitable (or readily adaptable) to use as a ticket system for members on a non-eCommerce site? 2. When I attempt to set which staff can view complaints, there is only the option to select Admins. I cannot locate any way to add other groups. Thanks.

Can the default action when deleting a member be changed from Delete to Leave? In our case it will always be "Leave" and "Continue to attribute" (we change member name to random string before deleting)

I just want to make sure I have not missed this anywhere. We agree that there is no way for a member to be paid directly for anything, whether using the core or any plugin, correct? Or did I miss it? Say in Classifieds, there is no way for someone who pays for something to pay the seller directly? Or in Clubs, there is no way for one club’s membership payments’ to go to one payment pipeline and another club’s payments’ to go to another? If I’m reading this correctly, ALL payments have to go through the board’s payment setup and then the board has to redistribute? If I am correct, is this something that will ever change? It seems completely impractical and limiting. …

When I migrate everything to a new server, the board still tries to use the same old path to HTDOCS. I did change constants.php but it's looking elsewhere. I cannot login to the new system to change this. I get errors like this due to a non-existent path: Where can I change these settings? I don't want to change them on my old site because then if my migration fails, I won't be able to get back into the old site. I searched the entire SQL database but couldn't find any instances of these paths. Thanks!

I have a newly created forum and have a few newbie questions. 1) Right now, new subscribers have to have their first 5 posts reviewed/approved before they appear. There must be a setting for that number but I'll be danged if I can find it. I'd like to reduce that number to moderators having to approve the new subscriber's first post ONLY before they have free range on my community. I've looked in the documentation but I must be overlooking where that setting is. Also, is there a negative to setting that number to zero and allowing new users to subscribe and start posting immediately, without a moderator approving his/her first comment or two? 2) Currently, when a…

I've recently added a couple of plugins to add a sign up button to my 403 no permission page and customise 404. However, it's made me realise that the error pages arent' working in the way I'd expect. Example some someone not signed in (we have boards not visible for guests)... Follows a link to a discussion - 403, all good Follows a link to a forum - 404 which I'd have thought should be a 403 because it's there but they don't have permission We've also created a custom homepage which we've linked to our forums, but if a guest clicks through they get a 404 because they aren't visible to guests. Is making them visible to only way to overcome this error?

I was looking through old forum posts and I couldn't find an exact answer to my question, I was wondering if there is a way to sort staff under the staff directory in an alphabetic order easily. This probably require some editing in the theme however I am new to this field and would appreciate some guidance if possible.

Hello, I have enabled google signup , created apps, tested it, it works with the test user brilliantly, also an older account I had, with that email, is merged with the google sign in seamlessly. But to publish and verify it, I also need to know if I need to select any of the scopes mentioned. In the google guide of invision its not mentioned. Do I leave it blank? On Pages, I'm doing my best to try and utilise everything they have to offer. I can see with Fields it can make a record very powerful in what information it can save. My specific thing i'm trying to do now is add a way for a user to add to a new record into a database, where they can select from a number of options. I can do this easily with the 'Select Box' field. However, the things they'll be selecting from need a visual aid so I need to understand how I attach a picture to each option in the field.
