Bug Tracker - Member Search

Would be nice if we could search the Bug Tracker for topics we have created or replied in. Some times we need to dig up an old bug that was reportedly fixed, but really not. Finding it can be a problem some times, especially with the 4 character search limit. Things like CSS can not be found. There should be an option to search my member name.

I notice that theres the pre-sales question re-direction forum to send potential customers to the correct page. How about a re-direction forum for Technical support or perhaps customer to customer support (going to IPSB) ? And possibly another one linking to the ticket area (obviously they would need to log in) These ideas might cut down on the mass of help and technical questions that get asked here that should be sent to a support ticket or a post on IPSB :unsure: Just a thought anyway :)

I'm completely new to IPB so please bare with me. I have a couple of questions about licensing. 1. Did the price of a license used to be $70 for a year? Now the standard license is $149.99 for 6 months? How long ago did this change? 2. Do you need a license for every website which uses IP.Board? If yes then can you transfer a license from one site to another site? Thanks everybody!!

Error messages displayed to users are rude, unclear

Invision Power Board's biggest user interface weakness, in my opinion, is the way error messages are presented to board users. Most of the error messages use clumsy English, treat the user as if it's his fault, and don't clearly tell the user how to fix the problem. They're so bad that I'm reluctant to use IPB for a site to be used by the general public (not people who are familiar with message boards already or who understand computer terms). Can these error messages be customized by me, the webmaster? I've never been able to get under the hood enough to find out. Let me give an example. In the "System Overview" i would like to see a few new features like: users that has gained "post ban" - "moderator preview" etc. Today there is only these options "Awaiting Validation" - "Locked User Accounts" and "COPPA Pending". I'd really would see more options in the "system overview" area, please.. :) Edit: edit

OK say you have subforums on your site and you would like to set the same mod up for the subforums as well. Maye there could be a mod option when adding a new mod This mod can moderate the subforums if they exist? This will help out alot instead of having to go back and remod the mod on every subforum

I sure would prefer to see "Corporate" replaced by "Home" at the top left corner of your home page. "Corporate" sounds very stuffy... that's not Matt's style. Even home pages of corporations should come across as friendly as possible. This would let you adjust the right-hand nav bar so as to be able to get rid of the fairly useless "Corporate" heading and "Homepage" subheading. When did the license options change again? I actually need to purchase a 5th forum license and am sad to see that the license options have changed for the worse (in my opinion). I've got 2 lifetime licenses and 2 perpetual licenses, neither of these new license options suit my needs as a user at all. I understand completely that as a company you need revenue and that selling lifetime support/updates for a flat fee isn't going to result in as much cash flow as charging for support after the first year. What I'd like to see in ACP > Manage Members > Member Search is the custom profile fields listed, so you can search for what members have entered there. For instance, you see on IPSB, Invision Modding and IZE that people frequently ask how they can remove bots that have already registered with 'google' or the username entered into the custom profile fields. If all these members could be identified, then you can combine it with 'Find Members to Prune (Mass Delete)' selected from the 'Type of Search' drop-down. Just so you're aware... Go to https://www.invisionpower.com/customer/inde...section=account Click "Edit my Contact Information". Change details and update. Move to "My Downloads" and then return to "Edit my Contact Information". When I've done it, several times now to be sure, the information hasn't saved.

Why does the "Community" link at the top of the home page take the user to community.ipslink.com instead of invisionpower.com/community (or invisionpower.com/something)? Ditto re: * "Business" using business.ipslink.com instead of invisionpower.com/business * "Hosting" using hosting.ipslink.com instead of invisionpower.com/hosting "ipslink.com" sounds like another company or another product. Confusing, especially to a prospective customer who is clicking around and notices the URLs changing like that.

I love the product. I love the service. I hate the confusion caused by all the darned "IP" names and the inconsistent use of them. Pretend I'm not familiar with the company or its products but somebody says "Invision Power Board is practically the major reason PHP is so popular on the web," so I Google it and am taken to a site called invisionpower.com to check it out. Now on the home page, I see that Invision Power Board is referred to as "Invision Power Board" at the bottom but then there's a tile ad on the side for something called "IP.Board." Hmmm. Hello , i have purchased IPG long time ago and payed normaly the renewal. This year i hold back the renewal, because the 2.2.x line had too many bugs. But now i dont see that i ever purchased it, nor i get the BUGFIX releases. I can understand that, if a customer doesnt pay the renewal, he dont get newer major releases and no phone, ticket, forumsupport from ips. But why the hell we dont get bugfix releases or security releases? Best regards, Carsten

When updating a bug to Status: Fixed, that is not so helpful to us little people who are reporting and suffering from the bugs. Along with that status change, many times Staff will post the simple text Fixed, or Fixed for the next release It should be more specific. It should say something like... Fixed for 2.2.3 or Fixed, updated main download at 1745 23Feb07 this way we know when and where to get the fix.

Hi, I am in dire need of a way to require all my members to re-validate their membership. I basically want to force them to log into the forum to receive new information (and to suggest that they update their profile). In doing so, I'll be able to see which members are still interested in being active participants on the forum. I can then prune members that may have active e-mail addresses, but aren't participating in the forum (and haven't requested re-validation through this process) Is there any way that this concept can be incorporated in future InvisionBoard versions? Thanks!

I must be blind or am not going to the right place, but I can't find the IP Download thing at all. I looked under purchases and everything and can't find it. Please tell me where this is because I'd really like a simple download manager. My guess is that it comes with something else like IP Gallery but I'm not sure so I'm asking here.
