I think a good improvement to the Warning System would be that once the user gets the max warnings, have their account be banned. Instead of graphical blocks, let it be a yellow card image and instead of Warn let it say Yellow Cards: and then instead of the <0> of <3> or whatever, have it show how many they have ;) . And on the Mod or admin side make the report to mods a blue card, then put like a Ban now card (red), and Give Yellow Card (Yellow)- same yellow card image for warnings. This would be a neat thing to do :) I have seen that on an old IPB forum. I think that this would make the Warning System work better, because you have the option to have the warn…

Hi! Today finally i got my visa virtuon credit card(after 2 weeks of waiting), and right away i have putted some money on my account... So i returned home, all happy that i will finnaly buy best community software... I don`t know how practical this would be but it`s just an idea :) When someone enquires about purchasing ICB / IPG / IDM (and they already have an active support contract for IPB) , how about giving them an encoded version of the product they are interested in (with say an expiry of a 3 - 10 days after the request) That way, they could try it and see if they like it etc (on a test board, not on their live sites) :unsure:

That total either needs to be reworked or dropped. It is useless right now becuase any bots not recognized by the list will count as 100+ people sometimes. It either should check IP addresses and not use duplicates as separate visitors or it shouldn't count guests at all. There have never been more than probably 20 people on my site at once because I have never found a way to get it very active, yet the total of most online is 616 because of spiders and/or a DOS attack!

Just looking at IPB for a minute I had a few ideas cross my mind. Let me know what you think about them: 1. IPB already tracks when users are posting. Could there possibly be a way, in future releases, maybe to automatically prune these inactive accounts. For example, if a user does not post in a year, there account becomes inactive and must be re-validated (as if they just registered for instance). Then these accounts could be placed into a log, and, if administration deems it necessary, they can delete inactive accounts from this log. 2. This should be fixed. I think it's stupid to have pinned topics in the portal all the time if you are displaying the topics in the portal. Doesn't make any sense when the whole point of having recent discussions on the portal... For anyone who is looking for this fix, open ./sources/sql/mysql_queries.php and find this: In function portal_get_monster_<censored>( $a ) ORDER BY t.pinned DESC, t.start_date DESC And replace with: ORDER BY t.start_date DESC

First of all, sorry for the semi-duplicate post, but this is the most sensible place to post this poll, so if you need to close off one of these topics, please close the other one. Thank u :D The reputation mod seems to be extremely popular, but also rather complex and/or time consuming to install. It also involves a lot of changes to a standard board, and for this reason, a lot of people (including myself) are going to rather put off by it, although we do still think it's a brilliant idea! One thing that's been problematic about IP.Board is that it's not always very accessible. For instance, there it doesn't come with any audio CAPTCHA alternatives. We've been getting some complaints from some of our members that our CAPTCHA in member registration has made it impossible to register without assistance because we're not accessible.

Do these polls have the ability to limit how many choices a user can pick? For example, if I were to say, pick your top 4 favorite songs out of these 10, would IPB be able to do that? If not, that should definitely be added.

Greetings, 2 days ago i bought a standard IPB licence, payment got aproved the same day and installed the forum on my domain. But i cant stil enter any post withing the IPS Resources part on this forum i get the following error I have a made a ticket in the client center Ticket #456811, also got a response (looked liked the support member thought the problem was solved already) but it dindt fixed my problem, i think its due to im still in teh members group and not the customers group. I hope this problem will be solved (note: this is the same account as i use for the client center)

Im looking at moving my website over to IPS Hosting however i need to find out the best package for a site that usually as around 45-70 active users however sometimes can spike upto around 200+ users. Also i would like to bring my IPB, Gallery, Blog & IP Downloads across. Im looking for a package around less than $60 a month, any advice is welcomed!

I noticed that every time I add a moderator, I go down the list and set every 'no' to 'yes', with the exception of viewing IP addresses which probably won't be an exception soon enough. Maybe I'm to liberal and trusting of my site's moderators, but logically speaking wouldn't it be more likely people will add a moderator than can do everything rather than a moderator that can do nothing? I think everything should be 'yes' by default and administrators should decide what they don't want their moderators to be able to do. It's a small thing, but it sure would save me some time, and I think I'm not alone in this. Anyone else agree/disagree? also, it would be just dandy if …

Yeah i know its against the rules to post tech support questions but there are a large number of errors and vulnerabilities found in IPB's services and i was just looking for a link as to email the overly large list to so they can be addressed by IPB staff. The account i do vulnerability testing for and security for i am NOT the owner of, just security admin, and as such i dont believe i can login to certain areas as im not the paying account holder. So any link that you guys can provide so i can send the IT admin staff @ IPB these vulnerabilites and check if they are really that big a deal or if they are already being worked on would be appreciated.

When you use the Center tag around a quote (I would assume also a Code but haven't tried it) it replaces correctly when you post it. When you attempt to edit that post it does not reverse engineer upon editting it actually leaves a </div> in the code and gives you an error saying you are not using the BBcode correctly. Hi all, In addition to forums, I would like my users to have their own homepages to post their media, blogs, etc. Basically, I want the forums and public galleries to be the "town square" that the members use to build a community, with each member having their own customizable space on the website.
