I just wanted to say thank you, regarding your latest announcement. Thanks for listening, and thanks for the action that you've taken. I can't speak for everyone (nor would I attempt to) but that's all I was after when I was posting the other week, so it's a thumbs up from me. I feel like I can look forward to any other products IPS works on in the future now too, instead of worrying that I'm going to be left out in the cold. So yeah, it's really appreciated. :)

Something that really, really annoys me in IPB3.0.x is the way the new PM notification works. Now don't get me wrong, it's a great pop-up box for short messages, but if a message is very long (for example I've just received a PM this morning from someone that's about 4 pages long if typed in Word), then I get a stupid popup box that's deeper than the screen containing the entire message. Would it be too much effort to consider truncating the content of the popup box if large messages are received please?

Since my content is now spread around multiple app areas, I'm finding it hard to keep track of when there are replies to my threads/content. I suggest that a new link be added somewhere to show me my content (topics, blogs, photos, issues, events, etc) in one nice page (similar to the style of the View New Content page). I realize that the profile page has recent topics, posts, etc., but these aren't presented as a list so I can see if any one has commented to my threads or blog entries or whatever. While I am primarily wanting this feature for the current user (me), I would also like to see such a link to such a page available on all profile pages. If such a page…

bfarber, I've discovered the problem that I have been posting about. Apparently the first version of the IPB 3.0.2 update that IPS posted contained errors in the original code. Apparently, it affected several areas of the forum software which included an Action Topics bug as well as problems regarding the clickable post icons siuch as emoticon, weblink, email link, image link, etc. IPS tried to update my forums with a newer version of the update but the update halted my forums. Josh, from IPS Support, has escalted the problem among IPS and I'm hoping that this issue is resolved soon. I'm just glad that this wasn't my imagination. This time around it was the IPB Update…

(I still haven't bought my license yet, but this is a suggestion I thought was worth making beforehand.) On my current, free message board software, there exists a BBCode for making inline Tables. The table title line draws its style from the category header CSS, the line that holds the titles for the individual columns draws its style from the 'Forums/Stats/Last Post Info' line from the forum listings, and the individual table cells draws its style from the forum listing itself, or even just from the regular post box. I've not had much chance to play with 3.0.2 yet but I was wondering if this is possible with the software..... I would like to be able to set it up so that admins and moderators can PM any member (and any member can PM any admin member or moderator), regardless of their PM settings. To clarify a bit, I currently have two instances where people can't access the PM system at all: 1) I have members who have been caught breaking the rules of our PM system. I love Reputation system for 3.0.x but there is a prolem. some of members vote - to post and i don't know who! I suggest an option to show who reputated for that post under its row (like thank advanced mod) but who vote - show his name in red and who vote + show his name in green ! Is it possible?

Is there any talk of automating the update process more? It would be nice if your board is out of date and your license is paid up, then you could just push a button in the admin to update your board using the existing tools but where the board could download its own update packages and untar them to get the process rolling.

This is really getting on my nerves. The IPS Developers have been doing a great job on IPB3 but it seems that IPB3 still suffers from a bug I reported way back when IPB3 was in Beta Testing. The Numbered Lists still do not work. It doesn't matter if you're using the editor in the ACP or whether you're posting a message. It just does not work ... Is there any reason why it still does not work because I reported this as a bug in Beta 2,3,4,5 RC 1,2 and 3F, 3.0.1. Now that IPB 3.0.2 has been released, it still isn't working right. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Not really asking, just know that someone is going to create a thread asking, so thought I'd toss it up so that the initial "When It's Ready™" and complaints about people trying to rush IPS will all be out of the way. :) Disclaimer: If you think I'm actually asking when IP.Board v3.0.2 will be released, then you need to read this post again. I have been looking forward to downloading Cleancut since I've seen it, as it's one of the few skins that leaves the header alone so I can just put up a simple image there -- I am interested to see if there is any information coming out about that. Much obliged for any info... or is Cleancut already able to be downloaded, and I missed it? Thanks :)

hello. This is somewhat of a complaint, not a full out one though. Just to bring attenton to the fack. In the Tracker section for the New IPS website, I noticed there are many reports that no Staff member has bothered to look into. I reported a pretty annoying one, and its been almost 2 weeks and no staff have looked at it. I also noticed that almost every report in there hasn't been investigated. I know that the Board is more priority, but the website has some problems that need to be fixed.

Hello, We all know that we can Ban a Member from the Board or suspend him for some time. But what about Ban Him from a Topic? Because sometimes a member do something we don't like in a Topic, and we don't want to Ban him from the Board, just in that Topic. Thanks

I have read a lot of threads with regard to response times in answering tickets for clients. Could IPS implement EMERGENCY - URGENT - NORMAL - LOW tags or a drop down box to help solve the more urgent cases or even RED - AMBER - GREEN and anyone who abuses the system is dropped down to the lowest level etc.. Just a thought...

I'm not really asking when 3.0.3 will be released, this is more for amusement and to try to keep those real askers from going all nuts with real threads asking the question.

For a bit of added security, I'd like to have the ability to have two separate MySQL user ids/passwords (one that only has Data MySQL privileges and the second that has both Data and Structure privileges) and have the IP.Board software take care in choosing which user id to use to connect to the database. Hopefully, only the Admin would need to connect with the user id that has Structure privileges and then, only when the code needs the extra privileges. This might give slightly better security. Administrators that don't want to bother with this could just use their existing MySQL id during the initial board installation, providing it for both ids.

As a programmer, I think that if you moved the topics and posts table into the core application and made them available to the other application, the board would be better. Basically, every app I've installed so far including the various apps that come with IP.Board (forums, members, messenger, blogs, tracker, calendar, gallery), have the equivalent of the topics and posts table. A member's profile has the About Me section (topics), and the profile comments (posts). The messenger has the messages (topics) and replies (posts). The blogs has entries (topics) and comments (posts). The tracker has issues (topics) and comments (posts). The calendar has events (topics) …

I suggest that you change many of the Info panels (the blocks of text that start with the little blue circle with a lowercase i in the middle) to have a control to collapse the panel. See the control icon on the right in the forum category header in the forum index. I'd like to see the state of this toggle be remembered for the user across sessions (and preferably stored in the database instead of a cookie). The reason is that it is distracting to visit a forum that has a larger sized block of text explaining the posting rules. You really only need to read this text once and then it becomes less important. So, I'd like to collapse it (and not delete it permanently)…

I have Cat French et many sub cat like 80 sub cat. French -> OSX, Linux IRIX, Windows -> Audio, Video... I want have possibility change value of French Sub Cat and have bouton propagate this all permissions or groups rules to all under sub cat. With message like when you select CP Admin to member. This function exist with CHMOD folder or all files and folder inside start folder. can you add please. I work now 1 month for change each value one by one. I have a huge forum with more than 20000 users, more than 1.2 million posts,etc.. and i have migrated everything from a phpbb3 forum i had. What i cannot get the forum to do is to show me topics where i have posted that have new replies. In one word, i have to check every single subforum in order to see whether someone has answered or not and that becomes hard job when you have many topics every hour. Is there a way to do so? any suggestions? My users are gonna turn mad if i cannot give them that sort of "filter" again like we used to have in phpbb3 forum. Thanks a lot, i hope you will understand.
