Today I had received numerous emails that one of my modifications was no longer working (on my board) I did some basic things and re-cached stuff, to no avail. I then checked my hooks folder, and to my surprise my actionOverloader was overloading some 3rd party hook , instead of public_forums_post_post. I hadn't touched that file in like a month though (since I installed it), yet some other application managed to change it. That messed up my mod, however I just changed it back and re-uploaded it, and its still working as of now. Any reason to why?

Hello, I have a suggestion for an addon to IP.Board. I will be called "IP.Articles". What is it? The managers/staff will post articles and news, and the readers & members will reply "TALKBACKs", like the big news websites. What is your opinion about that? :)

Please Include "mass pm" to friends feature in next version of IPB .. friends feature is its completelyuseless without it. I wanted to send happy new year to my friends in forum . But had to collect their names then send PM ... instead of it mass PM to all friends features should be there ..for certain groups.

I think IPB needs an easier way to sort the threads based on views and replies. I like the way vBulletin does this because you can just click on "views" or "replies" in the column header. Right now ipb's sorting is too hidden and not user friendly

Hello ! :) On my board, I have categories which are different (one for teachers, one for students, one for chatting, and others). I wondered if it were a good idea, and if it's possible to give members the possibility to configure the "View new posts" tool so that they can choose in which forum the search is made. Most teachers are not interested in chatting for instance and they would like to not see new messages in the chat forums (especially when they come back from holidays and see there are 30 pages of new messages). What do you think of this ? Thank you ! :)

Earlier today I purchased a standard IPBoard license for $149.99 USD. I was notified that the payment was successfully received. I then went to my client area and tried going to my downloads to get started downloading my IPBoard, however there were no downloads there and I wasn't able to download anything. Why is this happening? I've spent my money on the IPBoard yet nothing has happened. Can someone please help? :(

Note: Adding to Feedback section per discussion with support Hello, As I continue to play with IPB and how its setup, i came across another question. Say, there is a forum setup, which allows Members to reply to. These members CAN post BBCode, but NOT HTML. Moderator for the same forum CAN post HTML. A Mod comes and creates a topic, with HTML code inside (say a flash chart). Until this points all is well. The chart shows fine, because MOD has the right to post HTML. BUT the issue comes after this point. When a MEMBER comes and clicks REPLY (not add reply) to directly reply to the MOD's post, MOD's original post gets quoted. (Recall that this post has HTML)…

Would it be possible to be able to view part of the boards a over a WAP interface i.e. connect to your message boards on your mobile phone and be able to post new topics, reply, and view existing ones. Similar to "Lo-Fi Version".

The ability to disable the profile info from being displayed on a calendar post...with the option to choose a replacement image if disabled...would be a nice feature when creating custom calendars. I thought about a bug report, but decided its probably WAI, hence this topic. :) I wonder if its possible to have differing error messages for disabled parts of the board when Performance Mode is enabled, reason simply being new (to IP.Board) admins may be confused as to the cause. As an example from a recent topic, the messenger was disabled. We worked through the usual causes (group permission / members had not disabled their messenger / checked the db to ensure members_disable_pm was at 0) The cause was because performance mode was enabled, although the error message (code 10227) simply indicated the member has disabled their messenger... if ( $this->member…

In a recent upgrade test I ran a few days ago. Still not yet ready to update my site so still running tests. Any way I had the upgrade script convert the PM's how ever during part of that I got an error and so start the upgrade over this time I just emptied the 2 sql tables for the Pm's which I think was a mistake but the upgrade worked fine. How ever when you go to you Pms you have Pm's that you can not view or delete. My suggestion is to have a way to remove all Pm's from the system or be able to resink the sql with the software and have it realize the database is empty and not show any Pms for any member. Hello, Will there be an option to use the 2.0.x, 3.0.x style of the Blogs, IDM, IP.G? TBH, I really don't like the new looks of IP.B, IP.D and IP.G. They just look retarded. Kinda like a 4 year old would make... The blog has no color to it anymore and these "sidebars" get annoying all the time... It's just a stupid way of putting the stats in a sidebar... While searching for the answer to yet another of my embarrassingly basic questions I found this feedback section..great!! I want to thank the incredibly patient and understanding support staff. The sendNewPersonalTopic() has an 'isSystem' parameter. I thought I'd be able to send a PM to someone with this set to true and not specify a from member ID, thinking it would appear to the user as if it was being sent from the system and not a member. Instead, all isSystem seems to do is prevent the user from replying, the view still tries to load a member instead of coming across like it's sent from the "system" (the board itself). It'd be nice if you could expand this to just pull the board name etc for that information rather than requiring a system message to be sent from a member. I. I use almost plain vanilla implementation of IPB 3.0.3. I have more than 125K posts and abut 50% are index by Google. II. It would be nice if the sidebar could show small thumbnails without being blocked by guest permission settings. Or, provide each member with the ability to hide their profile so guest permissions can be enabled and thus show thumbs in the status updates and most active poster list. Showing blank thumbs detracts from the visual appeal of the board but for some of us it is necessary in order to preserve profile privacy from guests. Would be nice to have the two separate. Hope that makes sense.

Why are the user agents not simple like they were in 2.x.x? I cannot for the life of me figure out why when I see I have a guest online check the IP and reverse lookup the IP it shows as googlebot, yet it doesn't show in my online list, so the bot is crawling yet it doesn't say that 'Google' is online, I have it set to show in the online list, and allow the search engines to browse as members yet 99% of the time they don't show in the online list, I think I've seen google show as "online" maybe twice since IPB3 Final. If for some reason your import fails and you need to reimport members again and you check the box that is for "Empty Local Data" the process should be smart enough to keep the VERY FIRST USER that you created when you installed IPB. Because if for some reason it fails on subsequent attempts to import, it may have imported records - none of which are YOUR admin account, nor the default account, preventing you from logging.
