How well tested is the OpenID support in ip.board? I have several problems with the forum and one other forum. Example: I have linked an OpenID account to my old account (on this forum), but when i'm trying to sign in i get the following error: Fatal error: Call to a member function contents() on a non-object in /home/{removed}/public_html/admin/sources/loginauth/openid/auth.php on line 606 This might be a bug with my OpenID provider, but still a Fatal error from ip.board is kinda much isn't it? And yes, I know this probably should be reported in the bugtracker. But I'm curious how well supported OpenID is.

It would be useful for me if the chat is only online only when at least one user in a selected list of groups (in practice, the moderator group) is online connected to the chat. I would think this would be a simple addition. I envision using the chat as an online chat-based help for customers. If no one is available to help, then the chat should be offline. I can enable/disable the chat anytime from the IP.Chat configuration, but that requires logging in as administrator, enabling it each time, and not forgetting to disable it when I'm done. I've found it cumbersome.

I have some assistant moderators that I want to be able to have the "mark this user as spammer" feature. I currently can't see any way of enabling this. Bug or am I missing the setting somewhere?

I once used FlashChat a while back, until the security issues started, and I liked the ability to open the chat session in a second window. and still be able to surf the site while chatting. Can this happen with IP. Chat?

I am still getting the error after reinstalling and using a new key. Also There is a issue when letting guests see the chat, it's quite important that guests see my chat but when they speak and one breaks the rules it's impossible to tell what guest it was, if the gusts were numbered it would easily solve that.

After I uploaded the new IP.Chat files, I discovered that I have two entries that are eligible for installation in the ACP. The only was to discover which is the new one was to install both and then remove the one that stated Version 3.0.5. Previously no Chat was ever installed. There should be a better naming convention to distinguish between the two Chat apps.

Hi, profilephotos can't be seen by guests in the "topposters" and "status update" boxes at forumindex but it could be important for the site stickiness. We don't want to switch on the setting "can view member profile and member list" for guests because profiles and memeberlists are sensible datas, which shouldn't be public for guests (google) and then appear in searchengines. Rather we'd like to have a new setting: "allow GUESTS to view user photos" similar to the setting "allow GUESTS to view user avatars" THX

I have been using IP.Board since Nov 2007, I have been using vb too, but didn't have much of a fancy for it, which made IP.Board being core to any communities I have run. I have only been active on this board for about a year and a half, since I started developing, mods (as that was what they was called back then) and now slowly entering a skinning stage of my life (w00t) . It would be nice to have a better way of being notified of chat activity. I might have the chat running for 10 hours minimized in the background with no activity. If someone posts on the chat, I do at least have the sound notification feature. However, this assumes that I have sound enabled and it also assumes that I'm at my desk when the sound occurs and not distracted (e.g. on the phone). An e-mail perhaps would do. I frequently monitor my email for events, and I also get a popup notification when I receive an e-mail. Hi Everybody, My name is Eugenia and I'm 55 years old, I'm trying to get some websites up and I'm a mess when it comes to doing anything on the forums BUT these guys that are here are GREAT!! No matter what it is, they always get me out of trouble. Even when I kicked myself off and lock up the forums, some how they fixed it. I don't know how many times I've moved my forums and messed it up but they come along, then it's fix. I would recommend that you keep up the package renewal because it is well worth it. Please consider these enhancements for IPB 3.1. When you're creating a reply in a topic you always have the topic history (last few replies) at which you can have a look and then continue writing. But when writing a reply to a personal conversation (if not using the Quick reply) then you're not presented with the conversation history. Could the latter be made possible?

OK I give up, I just give up call me whatever you want but every time I fix something in IE6 it messes up another in IE7. These bugs are mostly RTL related. hence my question: are we allowed to report IE6 bugs? if no, I would suggest to start a work group (a topic would be nice) where we,as customers, can discuss, share, and come up with hacks and solutions for Internet Buglorer :P cheers :D and happy new year

Am I supposed to get a notification when I get a profile comment? Also vBulletin has a feature where you can 'view conversation' which shows the linear discussion between the profiles of two users. For example... http://www.blackburnweb.co.uk/converse.php?u=9&u2=916 If you are logged in and the conversation is yours you also get a post editor to post another comment.

While I can understand that you'd like to take steps to make sure all licenses are valid, I find that waiting 24+ hours for the ability to download things I've paid 200 dollars for a bit too "1990's"... I'm sure there is a better system than manual approval for new licenses to be able to allow users to download them. I was hoping to get my site up and working in my time off.

I first bought IPB, well, a long time ago. I ran a very successful community on 2.3, but then my forum just sort of died. All activity seemed to cease. I completely abandoned the site, it was beyond help. However, yesterday, I decided I was not going to give up my site. So, I'm restarting everything. I would like to thank IPS so much for how easy everything is. I'm currently using IP.Board 3 and IP.Blog, and I'm using IP.Converge to hook my site up to Joomla. It's been great so far.
