I think that the reputation system is the most used system that is seeking for new improvements. Here are my suggestions: 1. Show who repped the post (and which groups are allowed to view it). 2. Allow reputation bump per forum (like poll bump). 2. Allow sorting topics by number of topic's reputation. 4. Allow reputation in chosen forums. 5. Allow reputation in topics only. 6. Add a quick settings per group for who can rep. You are welcome to add your suggestions. :)

Every 3 months I prune inactive members from my forum that meet the following criteria..... Zero POSTSInactive for 365 days Now this would normally not be a problem, but I allow my members to post comments in the blog, downloads, gallery. Many members may have zero posts, but they may have commented somewhere. I need some setting in the Member Management that checks to see if the member has ANY content. I also have a IP tracker that I allow members to use. Is there a way to prevent deleting members who have activity in the comments sections?

I want to be able to delete a post, but keep it in-line of the original thread and view it when needed. Un-approving posts works somewhat, but long threads get very messy with lots of unapproved posts scattered through them. In vbulletin, when you soft-delete a post, it gets "minimized" inside the thread. If you have permissions to view soft-deleted posts, you can click a link to cause some sort of ajax call to happen and the post expands out to show the entire thing. Otherwise, it is left to be a very small in-line 3 row area of a post that shows the poster, the post deleter, the time of the post, and some other bits of information. It's been proposed before(e.g. ), but I want to create a thread with a little more in-depth explanation seeing as some of you didn't understand the advantages of this system. What it does Allows those with deletion ability to soft-delete a post or a thread. Deleting posts Deleting posts would be handled pretty much like the current system with the only exception that the moderator/user who delete will be able to delete the post, or thread, either via hard-delete or soft-delete. Wondering if anyone else is having any issues in the chat room with box that states the users online chattting. I can see their profile pic but not their user name. If I am at home and chatting I can see their user name. I am thinking maybe an IE glitch?

It seems as though only search terms that have at least three characters in them are being highlighted (eg red characters with a yellow background (class="searchlite")); search terms less than three characters are not getting highlighted. (My settings for Search Set-Up has the system using the Sphinx Search, using fulltext searching (although I don't think it applies to Sphinx Search), and its minimum search word length being 2 letters.) It looks like line 4296 in admin/sources/base/core.php is keeping short words from being highlighted: if( strpos( $highlight, '"' ) === false AND strlen( $keywords ) < 3 ) Of course, I can hack the code to get around …

With so many hooks to have on the forum index page, its kind of hard to please everyone. Would it be possible for the users to be able to choose the displayed hooks. One member may wish to see the latest status updates, while another user may want to see the last replied topics......and another may wish to see the latest IP Links. Just a thought :)

Hi, I would like to see, in IPB 3.1 an option to view a calendar that contains EVERY event from the sub calendars. If there is already a way to do this, how do I activate it? And if not, what is the possibility of something like that added? I think it would be great for communities that have many departments who use IPB for corporate or organizational purposes. Each department manages their own calendar, and at the same time, members of other departments (with permissions) can view those events alongside their own to prevent any conflicts. It would be nice to have possibility in ACP to set a prefix/sufix topic for forums like in IP.Downloads when you upload a file,in the autogenerated topic you can set a prefix or sufix: the title of the forum where is posted or your custom prefix. Suggestion: I was wondering if its possible to somehow prevent the "nothing to import" message when the .xml (specifically, the image xml) exceeds the limits. I'm assuming its because in the few cases I've seen the xml is larger than the upload_max_filesize in php, rather than the post_max being exceeded. The message is not (quite) true from what I gather it is correct in that IPB does not "see" the file as it has not got that far with it, but I wonder if its possible to somehow examine the file size and then perhaps fail with a different error instead so the admin is more aware of the reason for the failure to import.
