Bryan Sammers
In my profile I choose "Watch every topic I reply to. If enabled, choose default notification type: No email notification".
Amy T
The setting in your profile is for all. By having it also show in the topic you are then able to select individual threads instead of all.
bfarber
Yes, the setting in your UserCP defines the default. By still showing the option on the new topic form, you can optionally select NOT to have replies for that one particular topic. We have no plans to change this, nor do we consider it a bug. Amy T
Glad you do not have plans on changing it. I use the link in the topic because some topics I want to get an email about replies and some I do not.

I am sorry I think I did not clearly said in my #1 post what I suggested. In the usercp I said "I want to subscribe all topics WITHOUT email notification". However when I create a topic in the options there is a "subscribe WITH email notification" checkbox enabled. That is misleading. It's like buying a radio in the store and in the contract there is a small "you'll buy a car for 20.000 euros, too" sentence.
