Breaking Legs
Can someone explain how this works? I seen it on registration page here, just wondering how it works?
Alex K.
Essentially, it lets people create an account and sign in by just using their Facebook account. It's much simpler and easier for most users, and thus generally increases activity a lot.

So it has no use as such for current members? Where is this mod, searched on here but no luck.
bfarber
Facebook connect is part of IPB. It's not a mod, it's included with IPB itself. It allows any user who has a facebook login to login to your site without going through the registration process. If you are already a user, you can still link your existing forum account to a facebook account (go ahead and login using Facebook to see how it works). If you need help setting it up on your site, feel free to submit a ticket.
Brett B
What happens as far as created a physical account on the board? How are things like username, display name, password, etc. handled? Is the user prompted for these things when using FBC?
bfarber
No. It is against Facebook TOS to prompt the user for that info as I recall. The data that Facebook makes available is used when creating the account.
