So, it has been mentioned a few times around these parts, but I couldn't find an IPS person making any comment about it. Will IP.Chat have a private messaging/chatting feature in the future, or is this not a feature that will be added to this particular chat? For the most part, my users seem lukewarm about this chat software, mostly because multiple rooms and private chatting are standard features in a lot of other chats. Personally, I love it, and if this feature is in the works (I've already read multiple rooms will come to a future release), I'm on board to purchase a license. I have just purchased the chat and can see already how the existing layout won't be successful. To be a great addition to a forum it needs to open in a place that integrates with the other forums, like the shoutbox.

I think that the there should be a link to "My content" in the Log in/Log off menu (top right side). There's a link to My Gallery and My Blog... what about My Content?

Trying to keep it simple and I'm sure this would benefit many people. When making a member group, have an option that would be like, "Deny secondary permissions?" with the description of "If this is someones primary group, it will ignore any secondary groups on their account." This would allow an admin to temporarily move someone from one group to another to limit their access without the need to edit/remember their secondary groups. There are times when I move people to another member group that is meant to limit their access, but I don't want to suspend/ban them. In the system schedule, it tells you the 'next' run time for each task. Would be nice if there was a way to know when it was last run (be it on time or running late or manually run, etc). Perhaps in smaller print under the 'next run', there could be a "Last run" line. Also, when editing a task, I think it should return you to the section you were in instead of the first section. Like if I'm editing a task in the Members section, I should be returned there.

Hello Everyone, Over the past few days we (myself and IPS Support) have been trying to work out some issues with the functioning of my IP Board. I would like to extend a giant thank you to all the people named Mark (since everyone that works for the support staff seems to be named Mark) for going over and beyond to help iron these out. In the forum View New Content, the Post Information (last post right?) is giving the correct link to the last post, but not the correct author of that post. It's just listing the actual topic author's name again. >_< Edit: Sorry I guess this is a bug? :(

What would you think if the open comment box fields would be replaced with a reply link which shows an ajax drop down box when clicked. The purpose is a better status updates overview without disturbing the viewers eye if he doesn't want to reply to each single status update. You know that nifty filter you guys have on My Content? The one that says View all topics x has posted in or started, View all topics x has started, etc? Could you put that little guy on View New Content so I can filter them by topics I've posted in and/or started? It would allow users to see if any of their topics have been replied to, etc. That would be awesome :wub:

Will the skin modifications made on the default IP.Board theme be retained after upgrade from 3.0.5 to 3.1.0 or will the skin modifications need to be applied over again? Minor modifications include font-resizing, font-color changing, etc. (modifications both in CSS and in the template bits)

In the "Recent Blog Entries" block on the main forums page, there are icons (' alt='' class='ipsImage' >) that point to blog entries with unread comments. Is there any way to link that icon in the "Recent Blog Entries" block to jump to the first unread comment in the same way that clicking on that icon (' alt='' class='ipsImage' >) in the View New Content listing jumps to first unread post? A couple of extra features to consider. For watched topics/forums/etc, allow a member to select Inline notifications instead of emailed. For topics the member started, get notifications (inline/PM/email) anytime a reply is made to the topic.

From an Admin's point of view, it would be nice to have some control over notification options. Put simply, be able to limit which options can be have email notifications sent out and also be able to limit email notifications (except PM's) to being delayed or daily. This would be helpful for admins on hosts where the number of emails are limited per hour.

I would like to see an added feature to the warning panel for moderators to restrict how many posts a particular member can make in a day. With the existing features it's for restricting members who are outright abusive, and you need to stop them from posting or see what they post before it's made public. With this feature it would be for restricting users who post just for the sake of posting and add no real value to a topic. These users post for the post count or reputation. Following up on this, shouldn't reputation be locked to prevent further reputation if a topic gets locked? In a personal experience, I locked a topic because it became too out of control, but the out of control person kept loosing reputation. This was behind all of us, but whenever someone found it they lost rep. Topics locked should be exactly the same as they were when they were first locked, period. I personally think the (+) and (-) buttons should just be greyed out in a locked topic. Following up on that, maybe it would be cool to grey out the (+) and (-) buttons on any posts you cannot edit, such as your own. Only if the (-) is disabled board-globally should it …

How am I supposed to find which topics I posted? I mean common why you guys removed the Find Topic and Find Post thing and added Find my content? Sometimes I post new topic for help and then I track it using Find Topic from my profile. It's really hard to keep track of what I posted when many people are posting on busy forums! Please, add find topic and find post back!
