AVENista
So, it has been mentioned a few times around these parts, but I couldn't find an IPS person making any comment about it. Will IP.Chat have a private messaging/chatting feature in the future, or is this not a feature that will be added to this particular chat? For the most part, my users seem lukewarm about this chat software, mostly because multiple rooms and private chatting are standard features in a lot of other chats. Personally, I love it, and if this feature is in the works (I've already read multiple rooms will come to a future release), I'm on board to purchase a license. I just want to know if it's something we can expect in the coming years or if there is no desire on the IPS side of things to implement it. Thanks muchly. IPBSupport.de
Multiple Rooms and private chatting would be very interesting features! Maybe only for the paid chat service... :)

Gros Blaireau
Multiple rooms with an url for each room, then on the website we display a little window with the current discussions in the equivalent tchat room (if we have a category "boxe" on IP.Content we display the live discussion in the "boxe" chat room)
Adriano Faria
I like the idea of IP.Chat but the way it is now, IP.Shoutbox is more attractive.

wingman23
Just wanted to ask if there was any time scale on these improvements to chat. Im not a free user of IP.chat, so im interested to know  it would be good too i think to have certain things for people who pay for the chat above what the free version does, would give people incentive i think to put a bit of money into the development of IP.chat
Management Charles Posted January 28, 2010 Management Share Posted January 28, 2010 We don't have a time scale as such. We are current designing the back-end requirements for private chats, multiple rooms, etc. which is the hard part. Once that is done we can roll out an upgrade. We can probably post an update on that in the next week or two.

Zammbi
That's good to hear. Our users keep asking about Pm's and multiple rooms. I personally don't mind about the pm's but we do need the multiple rooms later on. Extra moderator features is what we need the most, especially when we allow guests later. -Temp ban. -IP check. -Clear chat. -Delete all lines from a user(could auto do this on ban). -Admins able to add or remove words from the bad word filter. -Mute for set amount of seconds. -Use forum sites black list. -Non admins unable to use powers on admins. Also having these commands as also non menu commands(like "/kick name") will help some of our quick writers.
Zhana
+1 for PMs. This thread is couple of months old, any progress on implementing the features?
