Hello In the next few weeks, I'm going to convert two boards from vBulletin 3.8 to IPB 3.1, I wrote hacks for both boards, and there are a good amount of data in the old forums that we can't just dumb and leave without them, so we need to convert them to new similar apps we're currently creating for IPB. Oh, the documentation for developers was and still a good help for me to understand IPB and to integrate my apps to the various joints of it. I really think multiquoting is a bit confusing to newbies. Maybe you could have it once you click at elast one multiquote button either the add reply button turns greeen too where they understand they must click it or maybe a brand new button comes up down there or something? I know me personally I didn't understand it for a while. lol And I always even now forget you can click them in multiple pages or topics and it still be there when you click add reply. lol That feature is cool yet I forget it's even there.

So I was looking at http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/298511-my-site-is-getting-repeatedly-hacked-via-a-tinyurl-info-re-direct/, and thought to myself that one avenue of attack could be fixed if there was a feature in IP.Board to generate a checksum every time the caches are written, and save a copy in the DB or something, and would refuse to load said cache files if they do not match the checksum stored wherever it is. This doesn't stop direct changes to the DB languages and manual recaching, nor does it stop a script from hunting and changing the checksum itself. But it does make it that much harder, and there's really nothing to lose by it is there?

If you specify certain hours for chat to be online, it doesn't kick members who are in chat after the time has expired. As long as members don't refresh the page, they can stay in chat for as long as they want. Members should be allowed to stay in chat for a bit longer, to review the last messages, but not allowed to submit new messages (basically, same behavior as if they had been kicked). There could be a "Chat is now closed" inline message at the closing time. This is about the only complaint I have so far about IP.Chat... great job overall!

I have certain forums inside my categories that I would like to have limited edit time for members. The rest of the site I would like members to use default editing times. I have seen no way to do this since 2.3.x and thought that it would be a feature by now in 3.x, but it is not. Maybe add a setting the forum settings for edit time? Thanks.

Sometimes I have 10 important topics ready but need to space them out 1 per week. I would like to use a feature where each topic has a publication date. Start Date: (Choose a day and time) End Date: (Choose a day and time) or (Choose never end) -------- This is a nice feature for forums that have article writers. Article writers can complete the content and post all of it at once with different publication dates. -------- I don't know if something like this already exists in the system scheduler...if it does please let me know regards

Hi there :) Maybe it will be interesting to add this feature in IP.Chat : the possibility to write/call member's name more easily. For example, on IRC, we can use TAB key to write fast member's name. If this is not possible, then it will be fun to use member's name by using mouse click to avoid write completly member's name, key by key. Thanks a lot!

I've thought this could do with a tweak, as although I've only had to use it myself a couple of times, it does not seem very intuitive compared to the 2.3.x version. For new admins, it may be confusing as to what to select and where to say switch everyone using skin x to skin y, and I'll admit I've had a problem with it too, I ended up running a query (simply as I could be sure that was right), I did think I had found a bug but was not able to duplicate it again. I do think it may be easier if it was split back into two tools as per 2.x, or perhaps just the wording should be adjusted to make it easier. :)

I love the new mobile applications and reading the iPhone App it seems really good, but what about those who don't use iPhone? The IP.Board mobile doesn't have the option to log-in and I had to switch to a full version in my mobile to log in before changing back to mobile :( and even then, the only things I can do is read and post in the forums, no option to go to my profile unless I search in the forums for one of my posts and click my name, no option to read my messages, etc. I can use the mobile version just fine but is there any plans to expand its functions in the future?

The docs generator doesn't seem to be adding in anything I type for additional information on the final two steps. Not sure where to report that. Also it would be very useful if you could add areas to put additional information before each file edit (optionally). Basically I have a lot of optional file edits and I like to explain what the optional ones do in case someone may want to just skip those. Of course when I understand the hook system better I can eliminate most edits to begin with. OK, after using IP.Board live for awhile, I have to say I really like it and am glad I switched software. There are a couple issues and minor annoyances that I have that would either make life sooo much easier or make my board seem a little more like home. This excludes ip.content which I am using, but will have feedback in some point in the proper forum. Would be good if a post is deleted all of the posts quoting it will have the quote change to "deleted post" or something of the sort. Hoenstly I have not even checked to see if currently the quoted post is stored as part of the new post or not. i suspect it is... which would mean a big change if this is implemented, but I think it still makes sense. I've eben on one site in particular where if a post is deleted those who responded to it and quoted it will indeed have this done. It would be really great if you could add a Paste From Word button in the rich text editor like that from TinyMCE and others. (when you paste text from MS Word of any version, you end up with a double spaced mess.) I nearly scream when I have to paste something from email (Outlook, which uses Word) into a post in my admin forum. In addition, I run a website dedicated to writing. A lot of people would like to be able to paste directly from where they were writing and just have it work.

I have to give props to the IPS developers for being so active on this board. At the support forum at another CMS I use the developers rarely participate on the board. The tech support people often don't know the answer to a question so they essentially become crowd control - making up answers and attempting to resolve the discussion without ever really addressing the issue. Drives me bonkers. So anywho, keep it up devs!
