Hi, I had a problem when upgrading IPB 2.3.6 to 3.0.4 that caused me several hours of work. I upgraded successfully, but when going to the forum, all I saw was text, without any CSS or graphics. I downgraded and re-upgraded several times and tried numerous posted tricks without fixing the issue. I finally gave up, downgraded one last time and put in a helpdesk ticket. It turns out that my problem was caused because for some reason or another my server doesn't support the minify code you folks now enable by default. Greetings folks! So first let me say thank you once again for this great package of software! I haven't regretted my purchase and move to IPS so far. Still there are always things to be improved and I wanna take some time and write down my ideas regarding the whole package of applications. I do understand that IP.Board is the core-app as you started with that and that for every other addon is revolving around it. Still I'd like to have more of a "package-feel" when I log in the backend. It's just a rather unimportant decision and tied to personal taste, but maybe others would like this feeling too. I have enabled "Use https for logins" on my forum but noticed that the login for /admin/ does not use HTTPS. Manually changing the URL still posts the data insecurely. If anyone, I would think the admin's password would be the most important to protect (especially since they have to transmit it more often than other users). In fact, I wouldn't mind if there was a switch to make all of AdminCP use SSL. Please let me know if it would be possible to include this in the next version of IP.Board.

I think it would be nice if you could show the forum rules only on the forum topics list instead of having them show up in every post. This could allow this feature to be used not only for rules, but also for a forum description landing page which could be great for those of us looking to optimize our forums for search engines. The problem with having the full text version show up on every post is that it could cause search engines to flag it as duplicate content.

Just ran into an interesting situation today with the Personal Messenger. I was having a long-running conversation with someone and they accidentally deleted the conversation on their end when using their phone. Unfortunately it seems there is no way to invite this individual back to the conversation, since they are already a part of it (says the forum!) even though they've deleted it on their end. Matt, can you please modify this behavior so that it does allow people to be invited who have left the conversation? That would be spiffarific. :D Thanks! ..Al

Hello everyone! Although some say that Google's instant-search is the death for Search-Engine-Optimization, many disagree. First of all, let me say that I really love IPS with all its applications. I don't make a living from building a community, it's just a hobby to me, still I decided to leave vBulletin behind and find something more flexible for me. Here I am. Please please please can you consider making it possible so when you hover over a thread name it shows a preview of the thread. I know its possible to press the button and wait for the pop up to load, but many forums offer the thread hover and its so much easier. I notice there is a mod available that does this, but I find it frustrating with the thought of having to pay for something which should really be default. Is this something IPB would consider? I cant imagine it would be overly difficult for people with your skills and knowledge.

On my forum, there are a lot of discussions about motorcycle travels, pictures.. things that join people. I believe that tagging topics, or photos in topics, just like facebook functionality would be very very useful. After the tagging has been made, users in the photos/topics should receive an mail. The new notification feature, is there anyway that in IPB 3.2.x that they can intergrate with IE9 so users could possibly be notified when they either get eg a notification or when there is a new post on the site. Or could someone show me how I could possibly go about doing this ? linky I'm currently using the recent topic hook which updates via ajax, I'm looking at that to see if the code could be integrated with it.

So I was recently thinking, IPS has done a lot of stuff, put up with a lot of crap (especially mine), and still come through amazingly. I just wanted to give the whole development, management, and support team an Ego boost. My thoughts on IPS: 1. They are EXTREMELY FRIENDLY. The support staff has always answered my questions, except for one, regardless of what it was. Can I suggest a modification to the report centre - can we have an option to post reports into a forum instead of the report centre (or as well as). I imagine an ACP dropdown of all the forums you have, with nothing selected initially - and by specifying a forum all future reports are posted (or copied) there. My moderators are really struggling with the report centre and having the reports in a forum would keep the "active / current" ones we are discussing at the top, allow us to edit our posts (you can't edit report comments!!), and will more searchable too. How come, when I look in my profile on this board, I can only see today's posts and one from yesterday? When I look at topics, I can see 4 of them, the oldest one from Aug 19th On my own board, where I post a lot, I can see only 5 posts, all from today and 5 topics, also from today only? On my board, in ACP>Search Set-up, I have cut off set to 365 days and 200 results. What's wrong?

Hello, In French, when you have this word : L'action, IP-Board create this url : laction It's bad, because it's an other word. This would be better : L-action. So when there is a ' you should remplace it by a "-" instead of delete it. Cordialy

After submitting a ticket through IPB asking if it was possible to allow members to have multiple accounts with the same email address, they said it wasn't possible because IPB uses the email address as an unique identifier. However, I was wondering if the developers could include in future versions to have a check box to where it allowed members to have multiple accounts with the same email address. The reason I am asking for this is that I run a Role Playing forum that requires players to have multiple accounts for every character they role play. Yeah... if you look at the board index the IPB Icon ist marked darkblue. And for example this forum contains subforums, so I think there should be something which shows us in WHICH subforum st. has been posted. God, I hope I got that straight :P So, what do you think?

I like the fact that you can collapse specific sections in the side panel. But having that and the collapse button seems a bit funky to me... What I would like to see is a way to remove/add/arrange blocks in the side panel. I'm not talking about drag-and-drop necessarily, but something in the UserCP. If you have no blocks, then you have no side panel :).

Hooks already support templates but what about CSS files? Adding CSS files manually in the hook package won't add them in DB and so you can't edit those files from ACP using the built-in editor, and using an FTP program to edit them defeats the purpose of the new IPB3 editor.
