Sometimes when reading through a large discussion, it's time consuming going through all the posts on every page to find only the ones you want to read. I think it would be a nice option to have a button/link near a participants name that'll allow one to view all his/her specific posts only.

With regards to attachment thumbnails, it says "If both options above are set to "yes", you can define the maximum width of the thumbnail. If attached images are smaller than the dimensions set here, they will not be shown as a thumbnail" This is not true... in fact, if there is a 100x100 image attached, and I have thumbnails set to 300x300, it blows up that 100x100 image to make it a 300x300 thumbnail and it looks TERRIBLE. I believe proper image handling is KEY in having a professional looking site. When images are out of proportion or distorted, it makes us look like amateurs. This, combined with the lightbox popup that doesn't resize HUGE images are major issues IMO

Under general config: Board Name This is the name of the board. It is used as the first link in the navigation menu, etc. Website Name This is the name of your website. If this and "Website Address' is filled in, your website address and name will appear on the board above the header by default. These two are actually backwards. For me, "Website Name" is what gets used as the first link in the nav menu, and "Board Name" appears in the title of the page. At least on a brand new fresh install.......

Ever since my forums were upgraded to IPB3, I had noticed a definite abuse in server load stats on my site. It was getting to such a point where it was affecting the overall performance of my site and forums. While I had never connected anything with these high server loads, I have discovered that the problem was related to the forum skins that I was using. I discovered this problem upon installing a particular new skin and noticed that my server loads had dropped from 8-20 to down under 5.00. I'm wondering if there's anything that IPS plans on doing to establishing certain code that won't be as memory intrusive for server loads.

This is a simple suggestion but very important in my opinion. If a user purchases the entire suite, he has to download multiple zip files (ughh... what a mess, but ok).... then he has to unzip them. Surprise! Most contain the same folder name "board". So... we end up with multiple folders... board1, board2, board3, etc because any decent OS is not going to merge or overwrite the other folders. Of course we have no idea which folder is which now... they all have the same name! So how about fixing this? Subscriptions, the board, and converge have their own folder names, so why not do that for ALL products in the suite? Better yet, give us suite owners one file to do…

I strongly recommend own section for Personal Messenger settings, not under Notification Options. I disabled my Messenger via ACP but spent few minutes of my life until I found it in My Settings. Silly.

the most frustrating experience so far for me is to buy anything from IPS Marketplace, which only accept payment via paypal. and Paypal does not support our country. I have to request to developer to accept the alternative payment methods like Alertpay or Moneybooker some of them agree while some don't. Here is suggestion to let the users upload the balance for purchasing the apps/skins in IPS Marketplace through the Clinet Area which uses different payment gateway and works with any credit card, this way the users like me can purchase the item from marketplace as well. :)

Something I'd like to see introduced, a method to allow members to choose which groups they are in. My site (in signature) caters for all Fords. I'd like to be able to allow members to choose which models they are interested in (eg, Mondeo and Focus), and they then become members of those groups. Then, I can set the forum permissions so that they only see the relevant content they are interested in, instead of everything which is currently how it is.

Hello, My friend haves a forum from IPB, where I am a moderator. He wants improve me to the group Global Moderators, but he don't can find the possibility to add that group. He can't find that group anywhere. Is it a app? Or is it just a basic function? We use IP.Board version 3.1.4. We don't have a domain, but we use 'invisionzone'. I hope this is enough information. If you need more, then say that. Oh, and when it's possible, can the person who's tell me that, also tell me hów you do that? Greets, Tom

Where i come from, the current procedure for deleting a member is actually not in agreement with the laws on privacy protection. After deleting a member the username is still displayed with all his or her posts. That means I have to run a manual SQL query every time I delete a member. I'm quite sure that this is a problem in other countries as well and I therefore suggest that this is changed for the next upgrade.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had vBulletin type groups for IPB? For example, I want to create a "Croatian IPB fans" group and invite people join it. If I'm not mistaken, IPB doesn't have anything like that nor am I aware of mods supporting this?

I have probably said it before, and I will probably say it again, but I enjoy your support staff. With the last two issues I had, the support staff was so prompt in fact, that the last issue they had responded after I had went to bed. (Not very long after my last response, I had assumed they had left work.) Kudos to the support staff. :) You guys are great. Timely, professional, and very kind. Now that onGroupChange provides the old group id, I'm hoping to make one of my mods edit free (Auto Welcome Members). But there is no memberSync onGroupChange call for the members auto validation function. Just wanted to check is it possible that this can be added in v3.1.0 final? I'm referring to admin/applications/core/modules_public/global/register.php - function _autoValidate - line 1012.

Most of the spam coming though lately is new topics, not replies on existing threads. I need to perform multiple steps: This is time-consuming, especially when there are many spam topics. Of course, you can select multiple topics to delete at once, but you still need to mark each user as a spammer separately. It would be hugely beneficial to have another option in the multi-topic action list: * Delete topic AND mark user as spammer This would allow me to select multiple topics, and click one button. Also, it would be very useful to have have an option to delete all posts and topics when marking a user as a spammer. Or, am I missing something and this functionality alr…

I have participated in a few threads regarding the overhaul of the View New Content ( VNC ) and Active Topics. I have made some suggestions in those threads and had even posted a video of the modification I had made on my old forum software - In one thread it was mentioned by Matt that they are aware of the issues and are planning something new for the next version. That is great news! I would like to throw in this narrative - a working document of the concept as I'd like to see implemented - however would love to entertain other points of view, just so that these ideas can be fully entertained and understood by the developers as to what we are truly asking for. :) …

Hi, The toolbox is nice to run sql commands against the database without having to use phpmyadmin but it would really be great if we had the possibility to save our SQL commands with a name and description in a warehouse from which we can easily run them again.

I just had a few things that I would love. In the ACP look and feel section I think modification of it should be a little more user friendly and have a little shell on top of the insides of CSS and other code. Also more Ajax maybe in 4.0 :P

Hello ,, I was just thinking that , since there is a built in Bulk Mail Feature in IPB why isn't there a built in Mass PM OR it may be called Bulk PM Feature and it save us the trouble of using the Addon mass pm because there are problems with IPB ACP permissions in that addon Thanks for the great work.

An absolute must for SEO and topic organization. Especially with 3 letter search terms that wont work for most using full text search. if there is a tag for the word, the problem is solved. We've spent countless hours doing tags on our VB site and it's painful to see we'll be losing that if we move.

Would be great if this could be changed. It changes to "This topic" when you're reading a topic and that will confuse my members. So many will launch a search when reading a topic and I don't want them thinking that what they are searching for doesn't exist on the site. I fought this for the last 2 weeks on this site before I realized the issue. I just thought there were no topics for what I was searching for! That's REALLY bad for marketing and member retention. :( Thanks for listening! Hopefully others will agree.
