Well, with the current way the notification system works, it's a pain to select 10-30 check boxes in there when you're setting up your notifications. So I think it would be great if categories in there got their own check boxes as well, so people can select a whole category and not just individual options. Also, adding the ability to select whole columns (Inline, Email, and Mobile) in the categories and at the top of the page (for example, if I want everything to be inline, I just check a check box at the top of the page). This would be a great improvement in my opinion. Thanks

I report bugs and post in feedback forum since years and i have still the feeling, the feedback forum is not the best solution to get feedback/improvment ideas from the community. There are soooo many good ideas and improvments in the feedback forum and we almost never receive feedback from the IPS-DEV-Team. According to my opinion every idea/post in a feedback (!!!) forum should also become a feedback from a developer, only with feedback from both sides (community <-> developer) this can work well. This is fairly annoying to me. I've gotten feedback from many members that the "Error:" message makes it look like the site broke somehow, or something went wrong. And this is obviously not the case when you just click on a forum that you don't have permission to view or something. That's not an "Error" that's just somewhere you are not allowed. It makes the forum look unstable to inexperienced users if they keep seeing "error" messages.. Anybody agree with me?

Unless I am missing something it would be nice to be able to ignore a user directly from their member profile or card. Currently the only way I can see to ignore someone is to go into my settings and manage ignore prefs.

IMO, those buttons should be hided from guests. There is no reason to show buttons if you cant use them. Manual fix: http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/344093-tip-hide-reputation-buttons-from-guests/

Custom View New Posts

Hi Basically, we want a system for a custom View New Posts which only looks at selected forums. Users would have an option (in their User Control Panel) which selects which forums they view new posts in. Then, when you click View New Posts, it only displays the new posts from those forums. I'm guessing that it would be fairly simple to implement - an extra field in the members table, and a change to the query. The User Interface might be more tricky, but ideally we'd have all the forums tagged by default, so until a user deselects them they get the normal "View New Posts" action. Also, if its not too difficult, it would be great to be able to make some forums 'perm…

That's it. I want the ability to mark an answer as the correct And maybe the Post can have an icon like "this post have one or more accepted answers" The mark can be changed by the member (the one who ask) or a moderator

Hi, Well, in Applications and Modules, it annoys me that you can't reorder application categories - like Root Applications, IPS Addons, and Third Party Addons. For example, I have DevFuse's portal application and I want it before Forums, Members, Callendar, etc., but in the current set up I can't do that via A&M. So if a view could be added that got rid of the categories just for reordering them the way I want them or if the categories could be reordered as well, that would be great :) Thanks.

Hello, I have a round number of $ in cosmmissions in the IPS Afflitate Program. I am wondering how long will it take to get them approved and paid to my paypal account? I have been receiving cosmissions before, and after a few days they were approved and i was paid. Currently, it seems it is slower, or there are some problems? My non-patience is caused because I am not long away from owning a IPB licence. Thanks

As the case on the forums here, non-licenced customers can't read and post topics in the customer only forums. Basicaly they only see the forum, but not the threads. So those forums should not realy be included in the Quick Navigation for those users, as that serve no usefull purpose. (Whoops, move this topic to IP. Board category please)

1. "Rate the user" (the five stars). Is there any point having this functionality? 2. User Tools - Display Name History. I would like to see this as a small icon (hover on username to view it) beside the username / display name instead of the current placement. Clicking on it would display the pop-up. 3. When you view a member's profile you can go through a short list of their submitted topics, posts, and other content. If you want to see all of the member's content you can click on the "Find content" button. Currently, this button defaults to the member's topics & posts no matter what tab you're on. I think this should be content type sensitive, meaning if I'm viewing a member's recent Gallery images on their profile and click Find content it should default to the Gallery content type.

Can we get more flexibility for online list options? As it stands, it's all or nothing. Some options that would be helpful: 1) Admin Only 2) Selected Groups 3) Hide link if no permission to view While 1 & 2 can be accomplished with hooks (and free at that, hallelujah, praise be to Michael!), the 3rd option cannot.

allow us to decide what we want to host/stream. if I want to upload flv file to a post and stream it, like I used to, I should be able to. I used to be able to upload any file to gallery and the share links gave few options, now video files only give link and no embed code for forum. let ME decide how I want to run my board. I left smf due to how good media galley and integration WAS. now I am almost ready to toss the 300+ $$ out the window and go back to smf.

I spent almost 4 hours creating a detailed html page (image screens/instructions) showing how to create a links system in IPContent, put it in a zip file and submitted it to marketplace so people would have a choice for free vs paid apps. Not to mention this would show your customers how easy it is to use Content and possibly change some minds on people giving it a shot that fear it may be too much for them. My file was rejected because it was not a modification. Instead, I was told to stick it in a lessons section. Wherever that is.. I wasted my time I feel and I do not want to take more time out relocating this information to some dark dank corner that I have never seen…

Just two minor suggestions regarding prefixes: [*]Differentiate the default color between the pre-set Pinned and Poll prefixes, which are both currently green. For instance, make a Pinned prefix blue instead. [*]Include by default an option to change the color of custom prefixes when posting.

After playing with the editor I have come to find there are many areas left out or missing for editing capabilities. I saw in the tracker some of these issues and the staff requested a thread here to list them all, feel free to add what you find as well. Calendar - most of the calendar is not working at all. Members page - sorting options A,B,C, etc along with page numbers. Gallery, not sure if this is my test install or not, but none of the gallery will work at all, the VSE goes away on the gallery page. Downloads, again most of this area is not working. Right now, these serve no function other than cluttering up the topic listing. However, if these tags were also searchable (like topic tags), they'd be useful for more than just the single topic for which each one is applied. This tag would also benefit from such functionality, probably more than hot or pinned, for that matter. :) It would also be handy if moderators could click this icon to search for and display additional locked topics in that forum.

The editor used for the comment system (IP.Blog, IP.Calendar, IP.Gallery etc.) is a boiled down version of the complete editor. That is okay so far, but why chop the emoticon button? It is an essential part of a community and expressing yourself . You should be able to reach the smilies quickly, everywhere. So please consider following alternatives: (1) Show the emoticon button in the comment editor by default or tell us, how to do it. (2) Let us decide what buttons are shown in the boiled down comment editor - or even better: build a switch button in the ACP to toogle between full or half editor in the comment section.

Hi, we have over 100 forums and sometimes it makes moving topics be more tedious than I think it could be. Mainly because of the fact that the forums to choose from is listed in a dropdown. I would like to propose that you create a little "switch" to enable a javascript search for the category you wish to move to instead. So I can just start to type in "Jav" for example and the "Javascript"-forum would be suggested. (The way Google and Facebook for example suggests while you're typing the search.)
