Sorry to post this here, I can't get to any other section. If I click home, or the IPS link at the top I get this message. this started yesterday and I initially thought the site was being upgraded, but I kept getting emails from posts I subscribed to. I thought that was odd so I clicked one of them and saw the site was indeed available. My work network has a lot of restrictions, but I confirmed it is happening to me at home too. Is there something odd with my membership here? I have two licenses, both are paid. Feel free to move this post to the correct location, but I won't be able to get to it. Thanks

When an IP is added, should it stop that IP from accessing the community completely or does it only stop that IP from logging in/creating an account? Thanks.

Hey peeps I just need bounce this idea off the forum, just in case someone has tried it before: If I made a backup of all the IPB files on the server, and made a complete database backup, could I restore these to get the fully functional site back? I'm thinking of implementing this so that I can easily revert between different snapshots of IPB. Thanks

Started to use the Blog for the first time and thought it would be cool to dump all required pictures in a gallery then just add that gallery to the blog post. You are only allowed to select albums to import from, but what is the difference? Is an Album a sub-category of a Gallery? Maybe I am thinking of it wrong, but I would find it easier to put everything into a single gallery, then when creating a blog just select from the gallery which pictures I wish to add to the blog post, if that makes sense? Having to categorise is fine if your starting from new but if you already have a load of content to transfer across, it is a bit of a pain, Thanks.

I'm in the process of designing a migration script, and I'm trying to automate as much of the process as possible. At the moment the flow is: 1. Import data to IPB 3.4.7 using the converter app 2. Upgrade IPB 3.4.7 to IPB 4.0 Would it be possible automate step 2? I'm guessing I will just need to run the right script with the right input...

hello, i did fresh install off RC3 (did not have time to test RC4) and noticed that by default Data Storage Method set to the File System rather than MySQL so my question dose this affect all of my data so in the File System all things will be stored in files like posts,topics,polls,members etc. or it's only for settings, blocks, pages, templates and others ACP things and what are the best option and why.

Could this please be added at some point? I changed the url in config_global.php to reflect https:// from http:// now all my forum does is crash on a redirect loop error. I changed it back but since I imagine this is cached, I have no idea how to fix. Any ideas, other then re-installing.

I haven t looked at the details yet but it seems there is integration with Mandrill available so here is my question I have a client with about 20.000 subs managed by IPB and usually we sync it with a local mailing app when we want to send emails. Sync are done per event and filtered by custom fields like fodd preferences or age If I want to use the mandrill plugin and I have a custom field for lets say food preferences, can I sync all members with the custom field "Food=Pizza" for example and then mail all these people from Mandrill? One thing that I have been desperate to have is a new version of Classified sales for 4.0 and I take it that the proposed Physical Market Place will be just that. Please can you consider giving the seller the ability to specify what currency they want to list the sale in. I run a multinational forum and many sellers want to list their sales in a local currency. Now I am not suggesting that you can cater for all currencies but certainly the ability to list items in US CDN AUS $, GBP £ and EUR € would be a great help.

If i set up MemCache in IPB with Mysql - all is good But why in this modern age do i need to download constants.php and then upload it to apply the changes? There must surely be a better easier simpler way ?`The reason i moan about the above is when you then re-upload all your ipb files or upgrade - you then overwrite the constants.php file and if like me you will have forgot about having to re-do the memcache setup in the ACP as it has gone back to default

An indication of topics within which I've made a post before? Is that what the "star" is supposed to be in front of the topic? If so, I think it's a little confusing as to me it would be like email, where I'd want to "star" items to review or that I'd like to follow. Or if it means I'm following them, then I'd like to know the difference, a notation for topics within which I've actually posted.

So I give up. I didn't have this on previous upgrade tests but I can't seem to find or be able to edit the sidebar. I can choose location in the theme but nothing shows up, no pre-installed widgets (like recent topics or anything installed) and when I try to edit a Pages block I get this: Any help would be appreciated. I feel like a dunce.
