If a bug is marked closed (not a bug), or fixed, and it is a bug, or not fixed, what is the best action to have it reopened? I've tried replying. I've also tried replying with a mention. But they go unnoticed and are often archived. I always thought that was the proper way but it does not work. Should we start a new report and link to it? How a bout a "Petition to reopen" function with proof, we post the proof and it gets marked Pending again, but is in moderation for you to decide the status... or similar. Thanks

We've got our profile photo limit set to 500 kB in the ACP. The error message presented to users when they try to upload a file, however, doesn't round it nicely to 500kB, but rather says: This is a little crazy. (The error message is also too generic for my liking: they only tried to upload one file, and "skipping" it means that their profile photo was not uploaded. This is not a terribly user-friendly error message, when what it should probably say is "Profile photos must be less than 500kB, please choose a smaller file to upload." or something along those lines).

I think the functionality to view a users previous display names has disappeared in 4.1 (unless I'm missing something). This is a very useful function, can it be re-added?

EDIT: Seems it is more than the Popular box. Since marked not a bug, can this be improved? The Popular Now box stays bold even after you have read it, then unbolds much later. Causes clicks when you think it is unread. Seems it is due to cache, can it use real time marking please? Thanks

We've been long time users of IP.Board, since 2.x or perhaps even earlier. While we are very happy with the forums software as a whole, there is one somewhat frustrating limitation with URL links. Our software uses a custom URL moniker, 'accord://'. If one sees a link in a website or e-mail, they are able to click on the link (such as accord://read/daily/) and go to our software, performing the requested tasks. This works everywhere online except the forums. We are currently using 3.x, but I've tested the feature in the test forum here and it also does not work. I don't want to be woken up because I left my phone (which was on do not disturb mode) is polling the server to check for new notifications, then playing a sound when there is one (and yes, I am speaking from experience). Also, I want to retain the battery, and the data cap, of my phone, so I would really appreciate the option to not poll for new replies in the background for that device, while still getting live updates on my computer. Also, I don't like the way that if you haven't enabled desktop notifications for that device, you are prompted every page load. Perhaps these are good additions. I do not know. I'm not a programmer. Reading so many complaints I have disturbing thoughts. There is still no stable release style 4.x.x There are many more plugins from beta and released ... I have no problem with 4.x.x But I do not use plugins ... Is not all good professionals you wait stable version instead produce a conundrum for thousands administrators - enthusiasts ...

I love the new browser notifications feature but it's really annoying that it keeps sending me notifications for content that I last viewed and left open in a tab. Notifications should be only sent for a) content I am subscribed to b) other people's responses to my content (likes, quotes etc.) Just because I opened a topic out of curiosity doesn't mean I want to be notified of new content in it. It's extremely annoying. After a few weeks of browsing this 4.1 my reaction to a browser notification went from "Cool, there's something new, let's see what it is!" to "Ugh, I must've forgot to close the tab again". I wonder if it was feasible to adopt a language file for installing at least for the major world languages. Example: English, French, German, Italian etc. I translated into Italian lang.php the file folder "Install" and it works.

I'd like to suggest that screenshots be moved from New Version to File Actions. The workflow doesn't make sense from a user standpoint: a screenshot is an ancillary and supporting piece of information to the file. When I want to edit the file, I'd like to edit all the details of the file such as the file description and screenshots.

I just pushed this textlink inside the Imagesettings in ACP I have tens and thousands of images on mye site - and I was not expecting a rebuild of all those images upon pressing that link. I find it kind of unlogical. There should have been some kind of warning..?

Hello, I just stumbled upon a problem that each category requires a unique FURL. What I want to do is arrange my records by categories, and then divide those categories by year using child categories And the my URLS would look like, for example mysite.com/articles/topic-one/2015 mysite.com/articles/topic-one/2014 etc. and mysite.com/articles/topic-two/2015 mysite.com/articles/topic-two/2014 etc. Except it isn't possible because I can only have one category with the FURL "2015", "2014" etc. So my URLs would have to look like this, which isn't very pretty: mysite.com/articles/topic-one/24_2015 mysite.com/articles/topic-one…

Recently Browsing should be Currently Browsing. If they leave the page their online location changes and does not show in this box. This wording makes it sound like it logs recent browsers, as in, it would stay listed 30 minutes (or set time) after they were last active on that page (which could be a cool feature actually). Currently means they are still on that page and have not clicked anywhere else on the site yet, even if they are inactive (in which case it would time out). But recently suggests it logs recent visits.

Is there any decision yet on making IPS Spam Service available to customers who don't need Forums by making it a free service linked to Core instead of Forums? I didn't renew Forums for of my sites because I just couldn't get anyone posting so keeping just Pages and Gallery going which are fine in this instance, but wasn't informed in the Client Centre that I would lose the anti-Spam Service if I deactivated Forums. Was told in a support ticket that it would be brought up internally. It's supposed to be a benefit for licence holders but now it's all focuses around Core, it should be linked to Core and not reliant on any specific add-on app? Many thanks.

It would be great if you could add the ability to select a default menu tab, so for pages that have no presence on the menu (eg profiles) could still display a second level menu that would be the site's default menu, rather than just showing a blank bar. IMO, looks ugly, and would look much better.

Please consider adding adding a Gallery widget that works exactly like Recent Photos, except it would show recently updated albums. A Recent Photos widget is not too good because very often people upload similar photos from the same event and they take up the whole widget. With Recent Albums, no matter how many pictures is uploaded to an album, it will only show once in the widget.

I've used an much older IPS forum for a few years and enjoyed a lot of the applications they used as I found them quite engaging for the type of forum setup that was used. I was curious is there is any way to bring some of them back or have them able to be updated to work with the newest IPS forums? I was looking for the Profile songs; ibeconomy and linked accounts. I know for an rping site, theses really appealed to users as it allowed a little more unique and formed base that gave us a bit of equalized sense of freedom but well contained to keep people from getting too out of hand. I'd like to request to have this functionality added back to IPB. I used this (and many other skin authors) for the "Demo" option in the IPS Marketplace in order to link potential customers to specific skins on a demo forum. Now, they're simply presented with the incorrect skin when following the demo link. Thanks, Tom.

Please consider offering a developer license. Many times developers want to have demo boards to show the public their products. I understand there would need to be limitations and the biggest one being other users couldn't sign up or use the board which is how it should be imo. The consideration to buy a additional license for me is taken away with the full price option. It's really hard for me to justify spending that kind of money on all applications when it's something no one will actually use because it's for demo purposes only. I would like to still see the option of being able to get a second board with that license that would be a test board also. That way we could…
