Hi The forum is running fine but i cannot access my admincp anymore What happened : I defined in the admincp a different name for the /admin/ folder lets say admin2 and followed the instructions (create constants.php etc) then i could access to the admincp with the url /admin2/, no problem After that i just added one line in the htaccess : redirect match to redirect old topics (converted forum) to /forum/ (ipb4) then when i wanted to access the admincp, i had a 301 to /forum/ i removed the line added in the htaccess but no change i removed constants.php Now when i try to reach /admin2/ there is a 301 leading to : /forum/admin/?adsess=am734qnnq6b704p8227u3acpn3&app=cor…

Hello, I just noticed in my test IPS4 RC5 site, that all my custom profile fields are blank, and named as "core_pfield_x" where x is a particular number. The fields don't have any of their original settings from my 3.4.7 DB. Wondering if this is intended, and I have to start over, or if such behavior is unexpected.

An admin on our site somehow accidentely deleted a couple of ours mods' accounts through the ACP, I'm just trying to fix their join dates on their new accounts (already assigned the posts to the new accounts etc.) I know how to change the join date, but not what I need to change it to. This is one of our member's join dates What would I need to type in to make the join date Feb. 10? I can't seem to make a connection between those numbers and the actual join date. If anyone could help that'd be great.

What's the best way to upgrade my forum and only keep members? Delete all photos, files and whatsoever and start clean on 4.0 All forums will also have to be created again, how would I do this? I'm going to use my old memberbase on a new forum.

Hi I just converted a forum from punbb to ipb4 and IPS Convert said it would redirect all topic urls but actually all my former punbb urls (i tested some old topics urls) leads to 404 How can i get the permanent redirections working ? Tx for your help

When I first found out that this was removed months ago I didn't really care because well what difference does it make if there are 20 (like I had on my 3.x site) or 25 posts on a page? Well turns out it actually does make a big difference when browsing on mobile. 25 posts is too much for a mobile site and the browser often crashes, especially when switching between pages.

Hi All, How can I install a local dev version of the version 4 suite so I can implement plugins/enhancements in a controlled environment without introducing bugs into our live site. Trying to enter the license it suggests (probably quite correctly) that the license is only meant for one domain. The lack of alternative documentation for the new version coupled with the amount of money charged is frankly staggering! Thanks, R.

Is it possible to disable automatic embedding of a topic when posting a link to a it? I just found out that when viewing a post with an embedded topic, it actually loads that whole topic. And if, for example, a user opens a topic page with another 10 topics embedded, they are viewing 11 topics at once which could cause problems on large websites.

I just uploaded all the files, but when accessing /admin/upgrade, it says there is no application to upgrade, with the Exit Upgrader button. IPB RC4 (I think is RC4, don't know how to check the version) still working as before, I still having the same problems: can't upload cover image in profile, most of the email never get to destination, and can't use Mandrill email integration, and I believe this was fixed in RC5. I know there's something missing, but I can't find instructions of how to proceed with this. Thank you.

Many users are complaining about getting 404 errors in my forum when accessing URLs that should be working. One of the things that causes it for some people is trying to post a smiley in a reply. They will get a 404 error and then the 404 error continues on the entire forum until they empty their browser's cache. This happens to me occasionally as well. Once the 404 error occurs, it keeps occurring until my browser cache is cleared. BUT, I can access the forum if I type in the "index.php". For example, this results in 404 error: site.com/forum/ But this does not: site.com/forum/index.php Any clue as to what is causing this? Anybody else getting this? It's frustrating beca…

Hi I remember many topics on the subject some months ago, we concluded that similar topics based on tags was not a good idea as nobody uses the tags, and similar topics based on title keywords was the good way Has it been followed ? Hi all, I am having a heck of a time getting some guys Admin permissions for a specific Application, but not the AdminCP. I think I have everything setup correctly, but Members I'm trying to get access for are receiving the this message: What I've done is set up a new User Group that is specific for this purpose. I assigned both Members to this User Group and in the Application granted the User Group access to each of the functions that allow me to specify a User Group (including offline access).
