For those that use the custom fields a great deal, is there any way to get them to show up on the front end with their text (like it shows on the back-end, very fancy-like )? My customers will be filling in several important custom fields and it would be great for them to also be able to see what they chose down the road and wouldn't end up not knowing what I'm responding about if they forget one of the fields they selected. Kind of disappointed that's not just automatically there...unless I missed something? Hugely appreciate any ideas/anything I missed Thanks

I would like to know how to disable attachments. In IPB 3.x.x it could be done, but in ips 4.0 it's only showing how to NOT DOWNLOAD attachments. I would like to prevent my users from attaching attachments how can I do this? I would like to disable for ALL forums

Hi there, I'm a current customer of IP Board 3.4.6 and looking to move my forum to a new domain. It seems like this is a great opportunity to create a copy of my exisiting 3.4.6 forum on the old domain and move it to the new one with 4.0 and test it out before announcing the move. It is a private, paid community of a few hundred so literally I will send messaging to them when the change comes to the new domain as it is part of larger rebrand of the product the forum is part of. My question is what is the best way to go about this? Should I copy the forum to the new domain and then upgrade it accordingly?

Hi On my dev board which is running RC7 when posting I get an EX2 error if replying to a topic that already exists. If I create a new topic it posts fine. In addition some topics don't cause the issue. I have been through the support - it has corrected a few database errors, cleared the cache and removed whitespace from a couple of files but still the issue persists. Any thoughts or help? Thanks

In the postContainer I found out that {$comment->author()->link( $comment->warningRef() )|raw} is the username of the user that posted a reply and topic. How can I make it formatted? This is the group format, but for some reason its not outputting the name - rather the group.. How can I make it format the name like that? {expression="\IPS\Member\Group::load( $comment->author()->member_group_id )->formattedName" raw="true"} just instead of having that group here, it will only format name with group format: http://i.imgur.com/xrGto30.png

Hello! I wasn't sure what form any coding for a custom block should take so I thought the safe thing to do should be to paste the content from an existing block there, confirm that it works, and then start making adjustments. With this in mind I created a new custom block called Events Test and pasted in the content from the template calendar > front > widgets > upcomingEvents. When trying to place this new customised block on a page I'm greeted with an error. Hi, I want to upgrade to the latest community suite, so I uploaded the new software to my server. But I don't want to overwrite my existing forum (in case of any errors or malfunctions). So I created a new folder in my current IP.Board installation at the webserver and uploaded the new files. But when I enter my license it says Is there a way to test and install the new version without to deactivate the current one? Thanks!

I am trying to figure out how to stop all these notifications from Friends/Followers. Members are getting way to many emails due to the Follower system, and there is no settings in the ACP or the front end to limit what notifications you get from members you follow. I am aware of a plugin that gives some extra options, however, that does not remove the current default of send me all notifications from this person I just followed. I personally do not care what the system is called, Friends or Followers, (as I use it to follow certain members content anyways, not really as a Friends system). However there should be a way to let members limit what they are notified on, …

if a log in handler is deleted what is the method to restore it? i was testing on a test site and deleted a handler that i don't use - but then that go time thinking what happens if down the road that is needed. at least a footnote in the documentation would be handy.

I lost the link to the read/unread icons in the theme. I'm unable to get into the CP, server type error. Lost all my plugins, not showing in the right side after update. Tried to disable but they are not in the block editor after enabling. Looks like a complete install of existing plugins Updated this way: Pasted all the files into the working RC6 folder and ran admin/update. No errors. Back to RC6...

The tabs that I have created show up in the preview section and were also displayed properly on the site until a few days ago. Now a few of them have stopped showing up on the site and I think the only thing that has changed is the new security update. Could this be responsible or is this caused by some other problem? hello, can we still do a force upload of files instead of needing to install option? upload find then install? system -> site features -> applications instead of using the install option but upload the files by hand then find then install... can this be done?
