On the other hand if you do an element check in your browser then you see it is with CSS that the box is made (border-radius for the curve) & font awesome is used for the double bubble chat icon .. so no icon images there .. . So TLDR : You cannot swap image by just replacing one in the forum files, you have to actually change the code OR you can add an image manually on each forum.
