This is indeed likely to be if the cloud platform is upscaling
Well no matter what the technical reason is, surely having random server errors on a regular basis can't be the expected behavior from a quality cloud hosting service??
I never had these issues when I was self hosting on a cheap $20/month shared host.

Thank you Marc.

Ok just now (11h20) it happened while editing a post, which took around 7 seconds to submit.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you @teraßyte!

I see one error in your logs which correspond to the time you posted here, which Im wondering if it is related to what you are seeing. Could you please note the times you see these occur on the next couple to see if this is a coincidence or the cause?
Indeed, this happened and then I came and posted here right away. I'll write down the exact times when this happens again.

I'm experimenting with the Courses section but I don't want members to access that section or even know it exists. I don't want it to show up as a choice in the Search menu either since it's not open yet.
Is there a way to hide that section entirely? I can only find a way to hide individual courses.

If this is happening randomly with you making no key changes, it’s possible there is a server related issue going on. For example, MySQL having a hung query or something tieing up the disk, etc.
This is happening randomly without any key changes. I'm hosted on the Invision Cloud.

This is happening again today, several time, this last time with a new topic with only the original poster and myself, so only 2 followers. All plug-ins disabled.

Momentarily.

The only time you may see very quick slow items is as the cloud scales if it requires doing so. But this should be very momentarily.
I mean right now it wasn't slow, it failed to display the site and instead displayed a generic server error. Both this site and my site.

When you say frequently, how often are you seeing this?
This year that would be today, september 8, april 25, march 21 plus the two or three times that I didn't bother to report it.
Granted, most of the time it's resolved quickly except for the march 21 debacle, but still it's happening more often now that I'm on the Cloud service than back when I was self hosted.

My site (and this site as well) were just unreachable a moment ago. Seems to be back to normal, but this seems to be happening more frequently than it should.

Meeting and passing any and all technical and content standards and suggestions from google is indeed a high priority because those recommendations and indicators are there for a google reason from people who decide what ranks and how it ranks. Since the rewrite is directly linked to the G speed test, it is also an important for me.
Apparently its no longer a huge priority:

This looks like a great update, I can't wait. 😃

Your only choice would be to remove the entire byline.
That's a bummer! But thank you for the answer @opentype.

When the Articles database is set to not use categories, the byline for each SG_card on the front page says:
By David, in Articles, April 19, 2022
Is it possible to remove "in Articles" since that is the only place where all my articles are?

I understand the reason but as a user that's not the behavior I'm expecting. I don't mind waiting for 5.x for a fix but I do hope this will get fixed.

There is no hover function on these devices, so you have to click. I wouldn’t expect it any other way.
Then maybe I wasn't clear. Here's an example:
You see how "Unanswered Topics" does not have a submenu. Neither does Downloads. On the PC, you click once on "Downloads" and you get to that page, as expected. On the iPad in landscape mode, you tap "Downloads" once and all you get is that little white arrow pointer point to Downloads, yet you're still seeing the Unanswered Topics.
That's not the expected behavior from the user.
The expected behavior is that you tap "Downloads" once and you load that page (and, if Downloads had a submenu, it would display that submenu at the same time).
-
The navigation menu does not work as expected on an iPad in landscape mode. Top level items require two taps instead of one, whether or not they have sub-items present.
When there are sub-items, the first tab displays the sub-items below the top level items but does not take you to the corresponding page if the top item is a link.
This can be reproduced on all Invision Community websites that are using a stock invision template and no 3rd party plug-ins or applications. For example I was able to reproduce it with https://www.ic-essentials.com/

Ok great, thank you.

Even better: Increase the thumbnail size in the database settings. The default is rather small (200x200 pixels).
Note: This change only affects new uploads.Thank you! Why is that better? Would it make the page load faster because it would be using smaller image files?
-
I am using sharp images as the record image and they appear sharp in record view, yet they are blurry on the front page?
Edit: I deselected "Use Thumbnails for Listing" in the plug-in settings, and now images are sharp.
My site is down / slow

Yes. Right now I don't remember but I will take a screenshot next time.
