I sent a private message to Mike about this, but I thought I should leave this here for others to discuss.
I suggested that instead of having this as a global option for all the forums, it would be nice of we could enable the option on a per topic basis, so we can control which topics use this feature.
He's planning to add that on a per forum basis, and then per topic.

give us somthing to use the points for... like name glow.. sticky topic... change color of thread... exchange points for real money via paypal ect.

does tjis app now have support for commerce?

I have plans to make it larger... for Pages, Forums, Gallery (images) and Blog entries. Probably will be here in a couple of weeks. Of course, since it will have more features, will cost a little bit more...

I would pay about same price for the topics.
Then have some options like:
- Based on cookies.
- Based on IP Address.
- Based on User-Agent & IP Address.

I quoted a few replies; as this app is one of our main core features of the community, I am scheduling a release date for the new board. That's why I am asking recently for new updates. I know that you're currently busy with other apps, but I though you might 'forget' these suggestions, as you told us to release a new version within 20-30 days a while ago. 
From now, I will keep an eye on this forum and I will stop asking for new updates. I am sorry about that.

how about pay point to view the topic

I am currently using a free points system but with what @Mike John said about them kinda fading out here and there I am excited about the possibilities of this app. One main feature I am really after is to be able to purchase items though commerce with points. The main thing I need is for it to be clear/separate from real money as we use the points system for trading in-game gear, which is against the games rules to sell/trade for real money but we have been given the go ahead for a fake/points system. Another thing that would be great, if possible is some kind of random points generator that members would get for say, logging in daily if that makes sense?
IE member logs in = Rewarded X amount of points today but maybe fixed or random? 
And lastly something I have wanted for a while now, an auction system with points, I know that's kinda a separate thing but I thought it's worth  a mention

I think a fantastic thing would be to allow users to redeem their points for "prizes", which could be another user group for X time, or demand a admin-input set of prizes. (Ex: community tshirt, discount coupon, etc). After redeeming the points, they would be deducted the total points they have.
That would keep users "willing to participate".
But i like the idea behind this app and has the potential to be the top #1 app in the marketplace. I'll install it after Christmas.

No not currently but it's a good idea and I'll note it for the future. Should be possible to hook into the sort options for topics.

It saved cookie with popup ID. I think I need to change in some next versions.

I will find a solution.

V1.1.5 has been released with an option to not show popup again after clicking closing button.

As reading through this discussion in this thread it seems that several here who wanted the article discussion in the forums have changed their mind and now use the feature to promote the topic post and all comments to the new Article.  
I do prefer to have my discussion content in the forums as the application "Blogs" really didn't work well on my site because my members look for topics only in the forums.  I don't really see my members looking through an Articles database to post comments, thus my need for this app was to highlight the best of the topic posts on a proposed new front page to the site.  The new front page is mainly to attract new members to the site.
Maybe the simplest feature to add for those who choose to only promote the topic post is to choose whether or not to allow comments. -- thus a statement as I wrote above to follow the discussion to the original topic can be manually added as needed.
 

ok,  but if someone comments on the article then it doesn't show up in the forum discussion --- thus there then there is a disconnect of the discussion, right?  This is what I'd like to avoid.
