Charles got a reaction from The Old Man in Your GDPR questions answered
Yes, as opentype said, the contact form does not need anything for GDPR. No data is stored. It's no different than when someone sends you an email. It would be silly to include a line saying "you have permission to reply to me."
Don't overthink what GDPR is for ?

Obviously I would not tell you to go against your lawyer's advice but I would note the contact us link in the footer is like 5 pixels to the right of the privacy policy link so you know... ?
As I said, the contact us form is basically a "send me an email" form so I do not personally see any GDPR impact anymore than someone just emailing you would have.

On older versions the opt-in box was prechecked so you can consider that "soft" since it was shown to them before signing up. You do not need to reconfirm permission in that case and you are good to continue to email them. On newer versions of Invision Community that box is not prechecked.

Ah ok I see where that could be confusing. What Matt was referring to was a nice feature where, if you change some of your policy or terms text, you can optionally make a user re-read that text and click "agree" the next time they visit your site. It doesn't impact the opt-in statuses of things like bulk email, follow notifications, and such.

We cannot really give legal advice and such. You would need to do your own research. We provide the best tools we can based on the knowledge we have.

Yes, if they follow that area. For example: I get a browser notification when news articles are posted here because I follow this section.

Next time anybody suggests that the Invision Community team doesn't listen, send them to this article. There's so much here that I've seen people bring up over the past year. What an amazing product. You lovely, lovely people.

We hardcoded so you can never change the icon. You must use the heart forever. It is a steadfast requirement. There are no settings to change it. If you try your site will delete.

Charles reacted to Cyrem in 4.3: Welcome to the future, blog!
hey lets quickly do something to blogs so we can show that we still kinda care about it....
I'm sorry but the blog entry page design is still awful and most other popular platforms offer far nicer layouts, far better readability. Heck even this custom IPS.Pages blog is heaps better than the design of blogs. Sure I can make it look far better with custom CSS and it looks like I'll have to.
The fact that IPS chooses Pages to make a blog with over their own blog app, tells you a bit about the state of this product.
