You would need to change every language string containing “club(s)”. There are a couple of pages. 

So change the colors. They are all theme settings.

The individual posts need to be promoted manually. Your question sounds like a reasonable feature request though. 

Because that doesn’t give you any of the features and benefits mentioned in the first post.

In case someone runs into this: I had a modified globalTemplate in 4.1. So after the upgrade I now had to revert that to see the new features such as the Complete Your Account progress bar.

This is what I was getting at the other day.... BTW, it's located in your profile under account settings. Which is not the place it should be, it should be on your main profile page!
Once you dismiss the message that it's, no way of getting it back. I will get round to adding feedback to this feature as I don't think it's well implemented (personally).

It's not a widget you can move around (which in my eyes would be a lot better to use), I'm sure someone could make it into a widget that we can place around the forum).

 

Yeah, I would need that too. I already have manual “pseudo-clubs” managed through secondary member groups. With your plugin I can easily convert that to 4.2 clubs. With the 4.2. stock functionality, every club owner would have to manually invite every member back into every club. 

One time action. That would require an app so I could use the MemberSync extension, but I don't recall a onGroupChange or something method.

The existence of such a variable would open new theming possibilities and would make forums really beautiful and visual. Having a $topic->topic_image and $topic->topic_image_thumb as they exist in Pages records (but automated to extract the first image or youtube video thumb of the topic) would be great and would allow visual forum navigation (similar to what happens in Tapatalk, for example). Tapatalk does that: automatically extracts an image from the first post of the topic whenever it exists, and looks great in mobiles. This would be awesome for user engagement and we would have beautiful visual forums, for sure.
Skin designers could come up with new interfaces in which the front page could be lastest topic images with the title below, for example. In an era where great images matter, would be so awesome.

Clubs are clubs. They don’t belong unter forums, since they aren’t regular forums. They can have forums – but also galleries, blogs, calendars and so on. 

Thanks opentype.  IMHO, this would be a great further step for Clubs, which is not to dismiss the great features which are already lined up for 4.2!

True. But the color appears in the topic view as well – or if the users switches to fluid mode. And of course you could redesign your forum icons to use the custom color you set.
