  1. Those $record calls are for the display template itself only. The “display custom format” has completely different and limited options, which are listed below the form field.
  2. Not really. From the database settings:
  3. IPS’ Commerce app has that functionality.
  4. Just to cover all basics, there is also the application level permission setting: Guests can potentially be removed from there. This would affect the entire forum module.
  5. It’s the latest IPS release and the author is filled in correctly. The products are pretty standard and non-physical. One is a subscription with a membership change and one is non-physical without doing anything – that’s why I need the PM to deliver the service.
  6. The software doesn’t really support this procedure at this time. The usual way to do it is to try the upgrade and the customizations on a test installation, but then actually do it on the live install, which you take offline during the upgrade.
  7. It should work automatically. Reactions are a member group setting, not specific to certain areas. Are you sure you not just looking at your own entries, which will not have a react button.
  8. I bought it, installed it and added it to all my products. But after a couple of orders, no PMs seem to go out. There is nothing in my inbox and I logged in as a couple of clients and there is also no PM. There is also nothing in the IPS error logs. I set this up for “normal products”.
  9. What exactly is the “bug”? JQMIGRATE messages saying something is deprecated are not bugs. They are just hints which help developers with updating code to newer jQuery versions.
  10. Probably. You can set up forms with custom fields and let members submit entries based on their member group. You can also use member group permission to make sure only admins see what was submitted.
  11. The 4.5 version is now available. (YouTube support only)
  12. The “manage purchase” section would be /clients/purchases/ There are a couple more Commerce links. You can add them to the menu manager (even admin-only) to see and test them.
  13. I’m updating a plugin to 4.5 which contains widgets. The widget settings now automatically contain a Visibility tab—but it’s empty. How is that controlled? How to add the actual visibility settings? Or how to turn that off? I checked the forum and the developer section, but I don’t see any information about this.
  14. Everything should expire as it was set up, but once that happens, the product should become available again as a new purchase to previous subscribers just as it is available to everyone else. That’s what kmk and everyone would expect. It’s kind of obvious. If I subscribe and later cancel a newspaper or app store subscription, I will always be able to start the subscription again after a pause. The worst that should happen would be that the new purchase might be more expensive now than an old renewal price I could keep while being subscribed, but I should not be blocked from subscribing again for the majority of subscription products.
  15. This could get you started, but only if you have experience with Pages.
  16. No. This is an old issue with Commerce product renewals and was never solved properly (or even acknowledged). Customers are supposed to keep their subscriptions active at all times. Once the invoice expires (e.g. after two-weeks grace period), the product cannot be purchased again, since there is already an invoice issued. But the invoice also cannot be paid since it expired. It’s very confusing for the customers and makes the admins loose money, since users cannot renew even if they want to. You can kind of work around that by allowing multiple subscriptions of the same product, but that is also very messy since people then might have multiple subscriptions for the same product active at the same time.
  17. By contacting IPS support.
  18. It works. Favicons are heavily cached by the browsers. Reloading a page doesn’t refresh them if they were changed.
  19. The prefix is added to the title and that can be helpful for users and SEO. For example: a prefix could define the type of topic, e.g. “Question”, “Feature request”, “Bug report” or specify other details. For example, let’s say I have a forum about Adobe products. I could give users the choice to put “Photoshop”, “Illustrator”, “Premiere” and so on in the title, so users will instantly know which app the topic is about. All that being said: I don’t use prefixes on any of my sites. While there are these benefits, it requires users to use the system correctly and that is rarely the case. So it might do more harm than good. But that would depend on the community and the tags setup.
  20. Yes. A topic cannot exist without the original post. You might want to reconsider whether you allow members to delete their posts. Usually it is best to only allow “hiding” and personally, I even only allow that for VIP members.
  21. This plugin also has the option to remove that entire column without template edits.
