UncrownedGuard got a reaction from Editorn in Feature suggestion: Insertion of blocks in Pages articles
This is certainly something I'd get behind.  It would vastly improve monetization on articles and even help with readers as you can simply add a block of additional information through your news or whatever.

    Hi,
As far as I know, there is not an easy way to include blocks in database entries. In our install (and possibly others 😊), there are several occasions when adding blocks to articles would be very useful:
Inserting custom ads in custom locations of the article Inserting a block with sponsors of specific articles In an expanding series of articles within a topic, a block with links to the different parts would take away a huge amount of editing when new parts are published One way of doing it would be to include a button in the text editor that brings up a list with the available custom blocks, similar to the way you browse for available Custom Blocks in the Blocks Manager on the live page. But I'd also be happy to just paste the block key in a field. Any improvement in this regard is greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

Wait.. wait.. wait... Physical goods and the support ticket system are going away?  Are we going to be able to add Shopify and Zendesk to the cloud system or do we need to integrate a whole bunch of services that basically defeat the entire purpose of a cloud suite?  I have much less need for a paid lesson market than helping a user with a question.

I will toss in my hat to say that SendGrid is worth the $20, but I also agree that the bulk mail needs a refresh for sure.

All of those features would be a plus and I'd actually say a scheduler would be awesome.  Not even going to get into fancy features like including the most recent ABC or most popular ABC with simple prompts.

I have run into some difficulties regarding the Bulk Mail feature which brought up some ideas for future features in the Bulk Mail section :
1 : Filter how many mails per minunte / hour or day can be sent.
2 : An export feature for member emails which can be loaded into any bulk mail tool.
The current solution with the SMTP gateway is not sufficient to those tasks at all and leaves only the SendGrid subscription for 19.95$ / month as the only solution but this quite expensive if you are still building up your communty and having like 2000 - 3000 members.

UncrownedGuard reacted to David N. in IPS Cloud - downtime on 21st March
6 hours of downtime is simply unacceptable. I'm a huge fan of Invision, love the amazing software they develop and maintain for us. But when I pay 150/month for a hosted service, I expect more. In 20 years of being self hosted on inexpensive shared hosting services, I've never had more than a few minutes of downtime at a time.
The fact that Invision relies on AWS and that the issue may lie with AWS is irrelevant to us, the customers. As a professional, if I can't deliver a service to my customer because Invision is down, I can't charge my customers. If my forum is down, I can't earn revenue from ads. I can't just tell the customers (or the ad network) "it's not my fault, the software cloud service I'm using was down" and continue to charge them the same amount. I have no choice but to take responsibility and suffer the loss in revenue and reputation.
Invision should  take responsibility here, offer $ compensation to paying customers, and deal with whatever service providers they use on their own term. As Invision customers, that's not our problem.

I can actually reproduce, I think it's a Cloudflare issue. We rely on the new Image() javascript method to tell us if the image is valid or not. It appears in this case, Chrome is reporting that those links are valid images, while Safari is not.

I'll do some digging but it might be beyond our ability to fix if Cloudflare is manipulating the response.

Reproduced on Firefox and Chrome...no plugins in the browser:

It's definitely being submitted to check if it needs to be embedded, and it appears to be detected as an image. Here's the request:

    And here's the response:

Not reproducible using https://www.ynwa.tv though (image = false)

I really can’t reproduce it on any browser.

The link shouldn’t attempt to embed as it’s not a whitelisted URL.

PHP8 is like 12 years old now, you need to get a modern server if that is the case.
And it is much worth it as the support ticket system is awesome!  You can only see the user side here, but the admin side and the features like email integration and such are great!

I'll throw in my support support here as a scheduled time would be much better than needing to add tasks to my To-Do list like I do now.

@Marc Stridgen There is another topic on this as well that didn't get a response.
What are the chances of getting a simple "start sending at" setting for Bulk Mail?  It would make my life a lot easier in setting up our newsletter.
We can already schedule posts, blogs and other things.

Would it be possible to get a option to set a time/date to send a Bulk Mail?  We use it to send out our newsletter and the lack of schedule options means we have to do it all live. And when I have time to get everything set for email never matches the optimum time to send that email.

UncrownedGuard reacted to Jim M in Really Need Help With -200 Error when uploading images.
-200 is a server error in processing the upload. The obvious things like folder permissions need to be checked. You’ll also want to check your settings for image resizing with your other sites. Could be you do this here and not there thus when uploading here, the system is hitting a limit or error during the resize. It can also be an issue with GD vs Imagemagick and the image you’re uploading. GD can be very resource hungry when resizing images.
You’ll also want to change 20m to 20M for upload max filesize.

I actually thought this was a bug here:
So adding my support to get this feature added to the calendar.  Seems like a super basic calendar feature to have anymore.
