That is unfortunate. We'll have to disable the feature completely. Thank you for the assistance.
Hopefully this will be taken into consideration, as it shouldn't be very complicated to do (basically instead of polling the IPS remote API, simply read the $_SERVER variables set by the maxminddb server module).
Meanwhile, we could attempt to develop this ourselves, as an alternate integration. Is it possible to develop 3rd party integrations without breaking anthing?

    Hello,
The available GeoIP integration is a very good idea. However, in practice it causes more confusion instead of helping with security, because the location detection is highly inaccurate.
I looked this up and it seems the integration uses an API on IPS infrastructure, which in turn polls the free version of the MaxMind databse (GeoLite2).
Is there any way to switch the GeoIP integration to our own Maxmind subscription? We already have a GeoIP2 City Database subscription and we'd like to use it.
    Thanks!

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release.

You could potentially redirect your other domain to your service here at IPS. You would be pointing to the address you are using, not the invisionservice one. These would however be redirects you would set up on your end, not on our end. If you are unsure how to do that you would need to speak to your domain provider. It does need to be noted however, that this will be a redirect. It will not be 2 domains actually using the same site. www.x.com/something will redirect to www.y.com/something. It will not show www.x.com/something to the user

There isnt an htaccess in the cloud environment. Its not traditional hosting in that sense. I do see you have a ticket in, and will take a look at that shortly for you.

    Also, may I recommend:

Honestly, though during the initial building phases back in early summer we used to have a weekly sync meeting with Ehren as he's in Australia and everyone else is not and he'd take us through concepts, and ideas and we'd all just say 'wow' for about 20 minutes.
Now I just send him badly annotated screenshots and broken HTML I mangled at 2am his time while he's sleeping.

I'm honestly unsure. I think it's two factors, the first being that the downtime was intermittent with degraded performance (1-2 mins down, then 5-6 up) - but pages were being returned and that it only affected about 15% of our client sites. I guess Uptime rounds up or down and it wasn't statistically significant when balanced with the entire network and 24 hour period.
If you look at our site which was in the affected 15%, then you can see the short periods of true downtime between slower page loads - but it was a few minutes at a time.

I understand that on your end, you're doing your best to deal with technical challenges. I have complete faith in the Invision Community team. I've witnessed the competence and reactivity of your team both on this forum and privately when using support tickets. I've invested a good chunk of my budget and a lot of my time into your platform which is now at the core of my business plan, and I intend to continue doing so in the long term.
On my end, as a service user, I can't help but compare the service I'm getting. I use two points of comparison:
My experience with my previous hosting provider.  My visitor experience with websites that I visit frequently.  So far this year I've found IC Cloud to be less reliable than my previous host or my experience visiting those other sites, which is concerning to me - hence this thread.
I have a question regarding https://status.invisioncommunity.com/ - how come when I click History & Incidents, I see 100% uptime for Invision Community Platform (US) for the past 30 days even though there was some down time?

georgebkk reacted to Matt in Reduce the time of cached pages for guests
For caching to be effective, it needs to be more a long enough period of time to make it worth storing, but short enough that content is updated regularly.
A 30 second cache will increase overhead but for very little benefit. We have found that the 15 minute cache is the best balance between overhead and usefulness. We have "realtime" activity for cloud customers so you can always see who is active in a topic regardless of caching and when members log in, they are served live pages, not the cached ones.

If I go to AdminCP-System-Settings-General Configuration, I see this:

Adding a Twitter page will show this on the Home page:

As you all know, the Twitter logo (and name) has changed, and most of the websites have now adapted the logo to the new one. When do you plan to update this as well?

Same should be done from the Block Manager:

Which right now is showing this:
