Mark reacted to LiquidFractal in 4.3: AdminCP Member Profiles
Why didn't you do this this and this and also that and don't forget the other thing and [insert other stuff which should really be in the feedback section]
OH. MY.
SEXY.
Nice work Invision, you rather smug horde of 4.3 teases....

Well done. More intuitive and reduced text box clutter / overload.
Are these a new type of Form field, or enhancements to existing form fields that 3rd party devs can implement?

Blog posts is the build up.
Releasing 4.3 is dropping the bass.

Namely the e-mail field that's highlighted. It's ultimately a text box, but only once selected. Is that something readily available to 3rd party devs as an option, or something we'd have to reverse engineer to get to work the same way? Agreed, @Mark did some quality work here.

Could you clarify this? There are no new form field types in 4.3.
Literally everything on this page is built via extensions ( 4.3 will have 2 new extension types which are used to build the ACP member profile)
@Mark did an amazing job here.

The new look is great (of course ), but I definetly like the filterable Recent Account Activity the most.

I'd buy you dinner any time, Joel
But it honours the "Maximum embedded content width" setting.
Yeah, we agree that would be a good feature. While 4.3 is feature locked, 4.4 isn't! If you have an idea, let us know in the feedback forum - we do read them. There's lots of reasons a feature may or may not make it in to any particular release (often to do with how much time it would take and how much testing it would require, which depends a lot on what other changes have been made in that area) - just because something isn't in a particular release, doesn't mean we have forgotten or it's been lost.

Naturally, any restrictions you have on file space still apply, and you can always specify what types of files users can upload and exclude videos.
Pretty much all this does is change what gets shown when a user uploads certain types of files from <a href="video.mp4"> to <video src="video.mp4"> - I'm quite impressed anyone managed to find a downside to that ?

Mark got a reaction from bfarber in 4.3: Paid club memberships, and other club improvements
Just because a feature isn't in this version doesn't mean we don't think it's important We can only do so much in any one release. Clubs in particular is a very new feature and has both been used by more people than we expected, and in ways we never thought of. It will take a few releases to add everything everyone wants. I'm really glad you love the feature so much! The vast majority of our customers do not come to these forums. We get a lot of ideas for features through support channels (either explicitly or by asking "how do I do this?" for something you can't do). So don't assume "nobody has requested" something. We wouldn't waste our time adding features nobody is requesting! -

Doesn’t feel like it actually. Asking someone whether one request from many that was not yet implemented makes that request “useless” makes no sense. Assuming financial interests as priority, just because one of the features implemented happens to be connected to Commerce is nothing but a bold assertion. You state it as it would be a fact. And paid clubs were indeed requested by multiple users.
Calm or not, it’s a terrible/dishonest way of arguing.
-
Mark reacted to ChrisTERiS in 4.3: Paid club memberships, and other club improvements
Long story short. Marketing trick to sell extra Commerce licenses. That's why they added Paid Clubs. That's all. As I remember, at least the time that I post my request for Club categories, nobody has requested Paid Clubs, while there were also other requests for categories, before me.

Mark reacted to Meddysong in 4.3: Paid club memberships, and other club improvements
What are you shouting at me for? Where have I mentioned anything about useless features?
For what it's worth, I would really like to see Club categories too. I think I was one of the first to request that feature too, as I've also done for Blogs.

Instead of going right to "X,Y,Z still need to be done" as others here have replied, let me commend the Invision crew on some truly outstanding improvements to Gallery. Well done!

All or nothing, yes.
There has not been any changes to the clubs widget.
Not for 4.3.
We're not planning a light version, no. The majority of Commerce's functionality, or at least it's most complicated stuff (the orders, payment gateways, managing customer data like billing addresses and stored cards, handling tax, etc.) is shared. The "storefront" is one of the less complicated parts of it.
Yes. All apps.
Sorry, not in 4.3.
