We would have no way of knowing without knowing what it was you used.

So what is the verdict on this now? Will 3.4.2 include an improved non-RTE editor? If not, will a later version? And what about making the editor pluggable in general?

I don't think there is an improved STE form what I can see. (Unless I jut completely missed it). :P

This is the Floating Text code I use, I'll probably end up posting in the mod section as I don't think it is a bug but it worked in 3.3 fine. (apart from having to use a doc file to paste the code into, as I couldn't edit without it screwing up)

Here is my feedback regarding the editor, after playing around writing blog posts and articles in IP.Content.

Do whatever you think is best for the WYSIWYG editor. It is important for most users, so just make something which works best for everyone.

However...

I'd like to have a simple editor which outputs clean HTML code (for example: with proper <p> tags instead of <br><br>). An editor which accepts HTML code as input and does not touch it when it writes it on the page. I need this kind of editor for writing IP.Content articles. Or blog posts.

Markdown support would be great too...

I'm in the process of taking HTML pages and copy the content to individual article.

When I paste HTML code into the article editor I have this (B) change to :smile: and © to copyright symbol

Also when i have bullet, all the bullet get a carriage return that leave an empty line, i need to delete the empty line to realign the bullet with it's text

Actually i have found a way to disable that :| i got pissed off at it so I spent a few days trying to figure way out to disable it since it got annoying, its a simple file(s) edit. The (B) symbol wasnt what i was too worried about so i left it. all ive disabled was the Trademark copyright and something else that i cant remember.

Now i make edits to the files every update i have to go through.

I'm happy with the editor in 3.4.2 I posted simple directions for it on our forum.

This is still my frustration.

If I am posting HTML, do *not* add random <div> tags, do *not* add <br /> for linebreaks automatically, do *not* modify my input in any way.....

That's the first I've ever heard of that. Can you reproduce the issue here? If so - I recommend submitting a bug report for our developers to review. :)

Yes, that happens when you paste. It puts in extra [*][/*] pairs. Easy to fix. Go to a line and backspace so two lines are merged. Then ENTER to separate the 2nd line and it will be right.

Not sure if it is the right place to ask this, but hover in bbcode "member" was removed in 3.4.2?

Thank you Jose..... I have spent more than a week trying to upgrade another hovercard bbcode, your observation pointed out the actual problem.
