DawPi Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I think we shall wait on beta 5, maybe 8 or RC1 to get it work. :-)
Ambar Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Beta 3 enter room on error than refreash need help with this one :(
dvancouver Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Beta 2 did not have the [#CJOIN-0] error but Beta 3 is barking. It's a beta and I let me board know that ahead of time so I look forward to further releases. All I know is the members loved it!
AtariAge Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Chat software is more complex than it seems. :) ..Al
Depotoir Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I cannot install it at all. I have uploaded all the files but it's not listed in my applications section. :(
dvancouver Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Did you uninstall the previous Chat service first?
Depotoir Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I can't! There is a message 'Driver Error' everytime I try to remove it! Any other way?
Rheddy Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Submit a Support Ticket. They'll fix the problem.
Rheddy Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I just thought about something. How can IPS get feedback from IP.Chat during this beta testing if the chat is broke by these errors? (w00t)
Mark Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Do not submit a support ticket - it's a beta - we won't be able to assist. If you are experiencing a problem and you're sure you set everything correctly, please file a bug report so a developer can look into it. It sounds like Depotoir you didn't uninstall the original chat application first, which the instructions says to do (in bold, prefixed by the word "Important") :rolleyes:I just thought about something. How can IPS get feedback from IP.Chat during this beta testing if the chat is broke by these errors?
.Ian Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Beta 3 newly installed and [#CJOIN-0] There was an error connecting with the chat room. Please notify an administrator. Will subscribe to this thread and await further info :)
AtariAge Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I installed Beta 3 yesterday and now my IP.Chat skin is not rendering properly. It looks fine with the default IP.Board 3.0 skin, but not with my custom skin. This did work properly with Beta 1 (too bad I didn't take a screenshot then!) but for some reason it's hosed now with Beta 3. It renders the same in Firefox and Safari. I uploaded the Beta 3 files and then ran the upgrader, all of which seemed to work without a hitch. Any suggestions? I'd like to offer this to my subscribers so they can test it. :) I recall someone else posting a similar screenshot, so I'm curious how they resolved it. Thanks! ..Al
Fórum Jurídico Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I get this weird square in beta 3 too, and also the [#CJOIN-0] error.
Power Optix Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I had the [#CJOIN-0] error but hitting the Chat menu button multiple times until it worked fixed the problem. I can leave the chatroom and come back and it'll load as well as log out and in and it'll load. :3

Michael R Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Installed without a hitch. But Service is temporarily unavailible. I left "Chat Room Server?" blank as there was nothing mentioned in the steps. What goes there?
AtariAge Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 [quote name='Fórum Jurídico' date='04 December 2009 - 07:54 AM' timestamp='1259934899' post='1884837'] Yes, exactly the same thing If you figure it out, please let me know as I haven't had time to look at that yet. :D ..Al
bfarber Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 For those with refresh, redirect, or display oddities - clear your browser cache. The javascript and skin stuff changed significantly in beta 3.

Rheddy Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 The one thing I've been wondering is just how in the world did IPS customize the IP.Chat to get the smaller "post box" and the tabled format where the message appear? It's kind of mean :ermm: that that IPS Chat is working but nobody else's is.
AtariAge Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I did clear my browser cache and even used another browser that had never previously seen the chat and they both show the malformed chat window. ..Al
Rheddy Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Same here. I refreshed my browser as well and nothing happened. AtariAge, eventually, we'll get a working Chat to Beta Test. (w00t) Come to think of it, I keep looking over my shoulder hoping to find Alan Funt with his Candid Camera crew. This making me light-headed and slap-happy. :hyper: :P
