Hi, We've been suffering from speed issues.. Eventually got round to installing NGINX (used the nginxcp, which just installed, and surprisingly appears to work out of the box) We are somewhat concerned it was far too easy. We'd appreciate some of you taking a quick looksee, and seeing what you think, can think to alter or adjust - or just plain tell us we are a little thick and have missed something of major importance! It's on a Wiredtree VPS, with 768Mb, quad core zeon etc etc. Optimised as much as I dare, unless someone on here is an expert, can do a storming job, and wants to tell me how much it's going to cost <bearing in mind we are poor> :lol: …

Hi, I need some help with settings mail server, we have will transfer the site to new server (dedicated) and do not work anything on our site for update by watching topics eg, that updated with an email if you have a pm etc We tried and bulk mail but still nothing I am sure that this is a matter of configuration server, but there is someone who can help us or give us a guide!!! I want to setup memcached for IPB, but am a little unsure of exactly what I need to install to get it working. Obviously I need the basic "memcached" package to get the service running, but does IPB need anything else? One of the two php extensions? Memcache, or Memcached? Or perhaps another extension or package, Thanks.

Hi Everyone, I'm moving a 600K post board over to IPB Wednesday. Since we're sending out an email to all of our users, I decided to do a load test on the new board this evening, simulating 50 concurrent users. For some reason, Apache started eating up a lot of virtual memory (swap), even though there was plenty of physical memory available. The server is a 4xcore Xeon, with 4GB memory running CentOS 64-bit. About 60% of the physical memory was consumed, the CPU was 80% idle, and 500MB of virtual memory was used. Since I intend many more users to be accessing this when we launch the new board, can you tell me how i can better utilize the physical memory in the serv…

I'm running a dedicated linux box with cPanel. I need an account that isn't as powerful as root that can still access other accounts hosted in cPanel, for example all of my resellers have shell access yet they can still only modify their own accounts and not accounts belonging to them. Can anyone think of a way to get me another shell account that has full access to the home directory? Keep in mind I do not want to use root for this as I will be giving this out to my admin team. Oh yeah and useradd doesn't work on my server.

Hi everyone, I'm running on Servint VPS and my forum seems to lag out from time to time. So, I'm wondering if there something wrong with my server? My IPB forum (v2. something) suddenly started returning a MySQL driver errors about a month ago. My initial thought was that my host upgraded its MySQL software, which rendered my database useless. I backed up the database (both the info schema and the other part) as an SQL file. It's a good thing that I did. I thought upgrading to IPB 3 might fix the problem. I moved all of the files for the old forum to an _OldForum folder, and placed all of the install files for 3.0 into the "forum" folder to do the upgrade. The upgrade didn't work. I've got memcache installed on my server and the config file all set up. Now, I a couple of questions: 1. I believe memcache is working, but since I upgraded servers at the same time, I'm not sure if the speed up is the server or memcache or both. I have root access to the server. How can I tell if memcache is working properly on the server? 2. If I need to change, say a blog template, do I need to disable memcache, make changes, then re-enable memcache? I've been trying to make some template changes, but they're not appearing on the production side and I'm thinking that memcache may have something to do with this. Thanks,

Although Our IPB site hasn't been ddosed yet, it would not surprise me if this would happen in the near future. I'm going to try and stay ahead of this and get ddos protection. Would anyone have any good suggestions?

I just moved my board from Windows 2003 Server to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server. The new hardware has: 2x 1Tb SAS disk RAID1 1x 60Gb SSD disk My Linux is installed on the raid system, and for now the SSD is not used. Can anyone suggest a way to use the SSD to improve the perfomace of the IPB?

I am on a hosted server with this place so everything was done under my name and payment info. Is there a way to give my admins access to c panel other than from the actual board? I just don't want them having my personal info. Thanks

Hi guys I've recently just setup a dedicated server and I'm trying to get it to the point where I can install IPB. Right now it's telling me I need Zend, GDLibrary and MySQLi. My server says its running Zend so I'm not sure what IPB thinks and I haven't been able to figure out the GDLibrary or MySQLi. Could anyone give me a hand? Also side note and really dumb question... I've seen many tutorials tell me I'm supposed to be referencing ./configure for php to install the gdlibrary and can't for the life of me find where ./configure is. Where is it?

Hi all! Until recently I've been working with close to 8 different shared hosting accounts because I kept needing more space and such.. I'm finally deciding to make the jump to either a VPS or a Dedicated and I don't know which... The goal with this server is to be able to host multiple IPB forums as well receive and send many curl requests a day. The VPS has 2 GB of RAM burstable to 8 GB and 80 GB of space and 1.5 TB / month bandwidth (upgradeable). The Dedicated server is a Dual Core 2.13 Ghz with only 2 GB RAM it has 2 X 300 GB Drives and 1 TB bandwidth (All upgradeable) can someone give me recommendations?
