Question on inodes / index nodes in Cpanel

Recommended Posts

Number of Inodes is related to the files, symbolic links and folders you have on the server.

This will be a count of all in your Home directory, not just public_html, and will include mail folders too.

Having more than one copy of an application, such as a development board, can add a few thousand extra.

Best tip is if you back up then backup to a tar or zip file, rather than a straight directory/folder copy, that way if you need to restore a file you can unzip to a temp directory, copy file(s) and then delete afterwards.
This can easily be done in Cpanel too.
