Hi, I'm preparing to update our InVision software. We use an internal Gitlab instance for SCM, and I'd like to put the core files in there before running the update to manage versions. However, I can't find any documentation on or any default .gitignore files. Does anyone have a recommended .gitignore file? Or know what folders/files are considered "core"? I would assume as a starting point anything in /cache and /uploads can be ignored. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, im looking at trying to figure out how to customize the sign up form to specific texts i want. Or how to add a custom block for someone to enter a specific username. Ultimately, I would like to make a new custom field thats required to enter a text on signup like a discord username. Any help would be awesome.

Just signed up for a trial and imported both our iCal calendars (which is a MUST as these get replicated to everyone’s smart phones) and the recurring, for example second Wed of the month and fourth Thu aren’t coming across correctly. Is there something i need to do?

Hey, I'm trying to upgrade. I get an error: Email address or password incorrect. Make sure you are providing the details that you use to log into the IPS Client Area at invisioncommunity.com/clientarea. Obviously I am logged in here, and I can log in to the client area. My license expires 08/16/2022 help lol .. disregard ... must've been a silly browser thing. Closed browser . .tried again, and it worked .. browsers are dumb 😛

Hello to everybody, I hope I don't sound too salty and complaining but can someone explain this. I tried to continue my forum which I was building last year and meanwhile the license expired. I contacted technical team to rewake my license so I could pay for it and keep working. But it turns out it's too old and can't be renewed. Does that really mean I am going to loose all my previous work I have done and nothing can be done? Thanks

How is that done, can anyone tell me? I saw it somewhere on another IPB, they had some different mobile layout. I just know how to insert boxes in the desktop style, but couldn´t find anything on how to do layout changes to the mobile view.

Receiving Error as Follows: To protect your security, "trail forum address" will not allow Firefox to display the page if another site has embedded it. To see this page, you need to open it in a new window. Is there any way to fix the issue? Am running a Google Sites Web Site. and would like to embed the forum in a page on my site. Thanks

Hello! How can I do something like this. 1. The home page should not be the forum, but the home page should be with the most commented topics and “our picks” with forum topics. 2. We are looking to setup a 'Private' forum / area for a specific client whereby we dont want them to be able to see 'Who is Online', 'Access Downloads' or 'even get to see the other 'Forums'. we are also looking to stop the entry 'Jo Bloggs' is now on the forums - To keep this entry away from the other users. Is this something that can be done - ie looking to have a seperate area for this group of users? that doesn't really interract with everyone else?

Hi community, I am fairly new to invision community. We are setting up our first community for a customer with it. So I came across the datastore directory and was wondering what's the core concept behind it. I see there is much information stored inside it in php files. My first question was, "why php files?" What I also don't get is what it actually does. Is it configuration data that is stored in it? Is it more like a cache? What will happen if I clear the datastore directory? Will the application be broken then, or will it populate again by itself? Is there a guide that describes more about the datastore directory? I am happy for any helpful answer.…

A frustrating issue is when someone asks a question, gets an answer, then delete their question. That leaves an answer without a question in the forum, which does not make any sense. Is there a way to prevent that from happening? I already have the group "members" set to not be able to delete their own content:

Hi, I'm notified by Bing web tools that meta descriptions and meta titles are too long. I can see that for example one topic called, "Hotpoint Ultima Wt721 Error Code F10 Help?" has the following meta title - <title>Hotpoint Ultima Wt721 Error Code F10 Help? - UK Washing Machine Repair Questions - Washing machine Forum</title> I can't think why the name of the forum and parent forum would be added to the title? It makes virtually every meta title way too long, and also makes all topics have the same duplicate forum names added. Scenario: You've just completed an upgrade or installation and the web-based process says that the upgrade/install is DONE. So then you attempt to go to the new site and you get a warning that the site is still being upgraded/installing. But it was done, right? Right. It was and is. But the code in the site that is triggering that message is in the Dispatcher.php It took me a while to finally see what the answer was -- it was too obvious. Hi, I have licence key not valid error on my TESTINSTALL because my test key is configured to my test server IP address instead of adress (and ips suite resolve now to domain, not IP) , i would change test url in client area from IP to my domain but i cant, because its already activated, but adress is more flexible, i dont want to get locked like this to IPV4. Do you know how in can change test url without brake main url ?

When someone on the forum embeds a youtube link it doesn't let them center the video in the post with the text editor alignment tools. The only way I've been able to get it centered is to go into the source code and add <center>. Is there a way to get it centered without having to do that extra step?
