Hello, I was trying to allow .exe to be uploaded but I get "The filetype you tried to upload is not in the list of approved file types" so I tried adding the mime-type for it. exe application/octet-stream Then it says: You must enter at least an extension and mime-type before continuing. Any trick on howto do this? Anyone have a mime-type list I can use? Btw, the "Unsure what the correct mime-type is?. Try looking here" link doesnt seem to work. Thanks!

IBF 2.2. seems not to be ready to pass W3C Markup Validation Service. Try yourself at http://validator.w3.org/ and post your comment. I think 99,9% customers should be glad to IBF to have a working "Out Of the Box" SEO add on or something similar (maybe selecting during installation or upgrade). IBF always forget SEO and if you want to have a Forum ready to run for SEO, you have to wait unofficial mods. Let me have your opinion, i think this should be a must have features for a product with this price range. Thanks

For the first time, ever.... This installer stinks. I have NEVER had an issue in years. Simply ran it. And, it totally crashed and now I am in limbo. Yes, I did a ticket. I love the new look and layout and feel, but however, I thought I read somewhere that the option of sorting replies within a topic were gonna be user specified to show the most recent reply first? Am I just missing the setting somewhere? I have a test forum which Im testing it out before doing the full upgrade on my actual forum, just to make sure and I know this was a big issue. But other than that, I see no other issues. Great job!

I think it would be more informative if the logo (logo4.gif) changed when you went to the IPS Addons like Gallery, Blog and Download manager. To specify though, I'm fine with the way it is now and I have no idea how it would be done, but its an idea.

I read the forum rules where is stated: Since I read in the forum rules that issue concerning your services should be addressed by private message or email, yesterday I contacted one of the members highlighted as IPS staff via PM. My concern was/is about customer support. I understand how busy you are since the new release, I really do. However, I have a ticket open that has been open for 3 days, and it has been 30 hours since I received any response. The staff of Invision performed the upgrade on my board and it didn't go well. My board has been closed for over 2 days now, and while I understand that it is not your number one propriety, waiting 3 days for support…

How to stop posts with live links?

Hi, I have an invision forum (currently v2.1) where gets a lot of spam posts. It would be useful to be able to disallow a new member group from including links until after a certain number of posts. This hack seems to fit the bill.... http://mods.invisionize.com/db/index.php/f/6815 ...but I would prefer invision powerboard supported this directly as I reluctant to apply hacks which may stop the smooth upgrade to new versions and security patches etc. Does anyone know whether there is something in the works or a possible solution using v2.2? thanks, Hugh

I have used IB for years now and pay a simple $69 x 4 for my forums per year but it seems now I have to pay $150 per forum??? so thats $600 a year.. or am i missing something here I was about to update to 2.2 but if this is the cost I dont think ill bother.

Inherit forum permissions

I think it would be great if there was an option to simply inherit or copy the permissions of a forum when creating a new one, it would make it so all of those clicks wouldn't be required in the permissions boxes, which gets complicated if you have a lot of member groups. :)

RSS Export Security

A discussion board may be configured to require that all members log in, in order to see any content of the forum. However, the RSS feeds do not requiring users to log in. This is a major security issue, IMO. I can understand the desire to support a wide variety of RSS readers (and therefore not require logins, for RSS feeds). My suggestion is that you have an RSS feed option to require that users be logged in, in order to read the RSS feed. Thunderbird, for example, is capable of using the FireFox cookie.txt file, which allows it to take advantage of the "remember me" feature in IPB (which saves an authentication cookie). I'd like to commend Invision on their quick response to a problem I had with the blog/gallery skins. I sent a ticket over the weekend and it was dealt with before the weekend was over. I had anticipated a much longer wait given how many tickets must be flying around after the release of 2.2. Good job !! :thumbsup:

sorry to flood the place with like the 100th topic on this, just wondering....what's everyone make of the new version? what do you like best, any bugs, etc? Im sitting on 2.1.7 for a bit longer until there's more skins, cause im picky. But i do like what ive read on making it harde ron spammers, built-in spoiler tags, and other such options. and whats this about a "universal mod installer"? Hows the new portal? it sounds like a myspace page...anyway, merge this if you gotta, just looking to see what some users thought of it, if its worth holding off a few more months and such. ps i love you more, invision

I tried 6 test 2.1.7 IPB's and each one fails at the end spot and has a message saying unknown table I think Taylor H. had same issue well 6 same exact ipb file copies and not 1 was upgradable I do hope you at IPS get this fixed before FINAL otherwise I think alot of us may remain with 2.1.7 I am not being rude or mean its awful to have 6 test IPB's fail on same server type
