I am interested in the ip board software hosted on your servers, but I'am currently running my forum on a ASP software in a windows environment and a Microsoft Access database. So in order to migrate to IpBoard I need to convert my database, and I'd like to know if you offer this kind of service as well and how much you charge for it. thanks in advance

Suggestion: Remove EMail Content from language files

Currently, all the content that goes out in EMails is stored in the language files. I think this should be moved to the database, and editable via a tool in the ACP - many sites will want to customise the emails the board sends out, especially sites who share log ins (you might want to remind users they can log into x with the same details for example) it seems stupid that they have to go into the language files to do this. I also think that the content of the emails are too large to really be considered language bits.

I'm posting this because after reading and reading again language files, I'm a bit tired. No convention is done between standard string or JavaScript string (or partially). One more thing, we should have this 'key' => "value" but sometimes we have 'key' => 'value' What's the right syntax? To translate language files, it's really difficult, as it seems to be no coding conventions. I think each language string should be: 'key' => "value" and 'js_key' => "value" for each entry used into JavaScript. It's already the case for some parts, but not always... SUGGESTION: move text input fields

I have so many IP's and email addresses banned now that I have to scroll a long way to get to the text input fields when adding a new filter. Is there a chance that those input fields could be moved to the top of the page for easy and quick access, instead of the bottom where it is currently located. Is there a chance that Invision will respond? :) david

Hello, At 02/14/06, I bought a IPB license for a year. It is now over, but I am allowed to run my board right? I also could change the website URL were my board was installed at the Client Area, but now I can not do that. It first was http://www.***.nl but I have changed it to http://forum.***.nl Is that legal? I am thinking of changing my domainname to another, but I can not change the URL in the Client Area. Hi, I am a new member here. I just wanted to let you know about my experience with IPB so far. I installed my IP Board but was having issues with the Gallery. I put in a support ticket in the early hours (UK time) asking for help. By the time I got to work in the morning there was a request back from IPB asking for my log in details etc. I forwarded the details and by the time I got home from work everything was sorted. Now thats what I call support. Well done IPB, keep up the good work. Seasons greetings Dave.

Ok who's wise idea was it to limit admin debug queries to 300 characters... NEWS FLASH whats the point of debugging queries if you can't see all of them?!?! can we have this reverted please cus it makes absolutely no sense what so ever, i removed it in my ipb. Also just released that the queries feature in acp doesn't show all the queries run on the page, just shows the global queries like sessions, whys that? Any chance to have some proper information show there?

Just a little suggestion regarding the location field. It's fine that it reads LOCATION in the Personal profile section, however when posting, it reads FROM Location and From are two different things. LOCATION is where one is currently at and I understand the FROM field to mean the place of origin So which is it? my location? or where I'm from? Both are interesting demographics.. but which is meant? For accuracy, I would recommend using one or the other.. If the words are being used interchangeably, I would use just one. Thanks.

Does anyone know if the follow two features/issues were added/fixed in IP.Board 2.2.1? 1. The ability to have a user be part of two groups, and if the secondary group is a moderator of a forum, then that user can moderate the forum? Currently on 2.1.7 if a user has a secondary group which is a mod of a forum, they do not get their mod abilities. It's only when their primary group is a mod of a forum do they get the mod abilities. 2. If we assign images to groups and a user is in multiple groups, will IPB still show only the primary group's image or the images for each group they are in? Curious if they were addresses before I do the upgrade.

User Group Colors and Attributes after Fresh Install

Ok so after installing a fresh copy of IP. Board and login to the ACP then get your way to: ACP --> Management --> Manage User Groups So after you install the fresh copy, for the Root Admin group the default color is Blue with no Bold Attribute. But the secondary admin group has bold and is Red, but it has different coding tags in it to display the color and Bold. I think you need to fix it so that Root Admin has the bold, or they both have the bold.

I am just curious if it would be possible for a future release of IPB to allow for modifications to be placed in various areas without editing files. I know modding is obviously not the main concern for a software company, but I was just curious if this could rather easily be implemented. For example basically some command in a component's file that would allow it to place things on the index paghe or in topics or w/e even without editing board.php, forums.php, topic.php, etc... Would that even be possilbe or is everything going to HAVE to be loaded with that particular file, regardless? Could there maybe be some sort of check in each file for a certain class which is…

How to add items in the text editor , in the text formatting menu ?? briefly ; I've an educational forum , members asked me to add math symbols to be easy to use it , some symbols like : alpha , beta , gamma , delta , pi , mu , nu , integral , infinity , not equal to , perpendicular , psi , epsilon , sigma , summation , ........ etc I alreay added them as bad words :S , i.e , when someone writes alpha , it appears like ⍺ can I add 'em in this menu to be more easy , since it'll be clickable thx in advance :)

Skin Difference Report & $this->ipsclass variables

Would it be possible to add an option into the Skin Differences Report tool to allow you to skip all changes between the ipb.vars/lang/member/etc. variables and the $this->ipsclass variables? This would really help skinners a lot in being able to convert their 2.1.x skins to 2.2.x. Right now, if you run a diff report between 2.1.7 and 2.2.1, you get like 436 different templates, but these are almost all caused by just these variables changes, and running the Template HTML Logic tool in the Admin CP should already take care of all of those.

Hey! I didnt know where to put this post, as I dont think its a bug, but I just want to make sure its not me... In the classic profile you could see the "most active in xxxx forum" and the "xx% of forum posts". In the new profile I dont find that info, and I think it was jnice to have it... Is it me or is it you? If its me, where can I enable it? If its you, can you add that info for version 2.2.2? Thanks :)

I'm sure this has probably been suggested a thousand times already, but just let me post the request again in hopes of seeing this implemented. The Fast Reply "lite" editor now shows a row of buttons for the more useful operations like bold, italics, smilie insertion, etc. It sure would be nice if there were a version of this "lite" editor where the buttons were RTE and these few buttons worked like the full RTE. It is confusing to many about the BBCode inserted by the buttons (I have set the default to be the RTE for all users). Another related enhancement would to make the emoticons dropdown work (instead of a link to the popup). Maybe this dropdown could be genera…

I don't know if this is possible, but some of us have billing scripts intergrated into IPB. What would be great as standard, is intergration of a SSL Certification in to specific areas of your forum. That way you can input your key in cPanel (or wherever) and have some sort of include. Is this possible?
