Hi, a couple of months I downloaded some files for an IPB forum. I have since deleated them, but I still have a couple of questions.

1) Was this download illegal, since it didn't cost anything?

2) If not, can I get them again, and if so, how?

If you didn't download them from IPS client area, or a official dealer, then most probably, since it was free it was 100% illegal. However don't take my word from it, since you might want to wait for a official response. You might want to do justice and report that site as well.

If you wish to use IPB you must purchase a license. If you don't have a copy of IPB downloaded from our client area already (as in, a backup of 1.3 for example) that would mean you need to download it now - as distribution of our files is illegal, if you download a copy of IPB anywhere except through our site, it would be illegal. And we no longer offer any free versions. :)
