[Suggestion] Show Admin Logs in ACP's Edit member

With thousands of members, and dozens of admins, it's hard to keep track of what happened on what account. We have a 'user notes' custom-field, but that is often left poorly documented. A member can get banned from one admin, and unbanned from another citing mistakes or etc. And admins often can't go and check logs (it takes too much time). It'd be MORE THAN AWESOME if the admin logs were visible in the edit-member area in ACP. Admins would then be able to easily see exactly what has taken place on the account. This reminds me of the time when I worked at the Bank ... everybody's 'profile' had a complete history-log of everything that had taken place on their account.…

I know there is an option to not show signatures on topics but it would be nice to have an option to set your signature in Board Options to enabled or disabled on quick and regular reply screens. An option like Enable 'Email Notification' by default? in Email Settings.

Looking up duplicate IP's

Hi. I'm an admin on an IP Board, and I was wondering, is there a feature where you can get a list of IP's that are used by more than one account? Because as the member list starts to grow, it would be useful to be able to prune members based on having the same IP and similar account names. To my knowledge it's only possible to block duplicate emails on members, but email adresses aren't difficult to create, and many people today use more than one email adress. Thanks.

Unsubscribe from topics

In the User Control Panel, it's only possible to show all subscribed topics that have been updated in the last X days. Which is fine if you want to read old things, but useless if you easily want to unsubscribe from old things because you get to see from the most recent going backwards in time. What's needed is a feature to display subscriptions that haven't been updated in X days or more. For example, you get displayed topics that haven't been updated in 90 days or more. It's useful to get rid of the old subscriptions, so that what's displayed is tidier.

Alright well I recently RE-Installed my IPB 2.3.1 files, and now when I try to login it takes me to a new window asking me to enter my username and password to login to Admin Control Panel. But any password I use it wont let me in. I also have another admin on the forums but im Root Admin. Please help me.

GZIP in backup

Ok.. That was my bright idea about defaulting the GZIP option in SQL Backup to "No"... I now realize I was wrong.. I didn't go far enough. Can we just remove that functionality totally? It just doesn't work except for a miniscule number of people who either have tiny forums that don't really NEED to GZIP the content anyway, or the people who know how to configure PHP to not timeout.. And they aren't doing backups from IPB anyway.. They're using phpMyAdmin or SSH. Let's just kill it. It was a fine idea that has outlived its usefulness. It's just as easy to download the full DB, know it's a good backup, and then the user can ZIP the content after they have downloade…

Hey guys, sorry if this isn't the correct place to post this, but I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I just tried a demo version of IPB. I edited some settings, played around with different things, but when it came time to change the categories and add new forums, I came across a problem. Once I renamed the original category, I found that people would be able to post in it (see picture below). That is something I don't want. Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks in advance! Joshuah

It'd be nice to see a list of forums somebody moderates (if they aren't a global moderator) in their profile. Also- the 'forum led by' list is probably best suited for INSIDE the forum (at the bottom somewhere).

I am surprised to see this feature not available: to have the signature be available on a per group basis. I would like only to give my premium members the ability to use sigs. for example, some features can be: allow this group to use signature [yes][no] maximum no. of posts required to use signature [sum_num] allow the tag for this group? [yes][no] allow the tag for this group? [yes][no] no. of tags allowed: [sum_num] allow BB code in signature for this group? [yes][no] and so on... any chance of this feature being added to later versions?

The friend list pop-up opens up a new window and this can get slightly annoying, so I suggest that it opens up like a javascript (how the my assitant is) So that you don't have to switch between windows for your friend list thingy :)

In ACP, in the pop-up box for members that are using a certain permission mask... when you remove that permission set from them by clicking that link, a message shows up, "Removed the custom set of permissions from ______." and there's no back button.

How do I go about transferring them over to him, so he still gets the 11 months tech support left on them and access to download all 4 products.

Hey dear developers of IPB, :wub: In this nonprofit IPB forum (commercially) we're running, voting for certain things is an important aspect. Now we're using the voting system within IPB as you can see in the screen shot below. We handle around 4000 votes a year. (And have been doing that since 2005.) What we hear a lot from our members, is that they find it annoying that they have to open the topic to see if they already voted on it or not. Some of these topics require a user to post, but in most cases, the votes are done with 0 replies. That makes it difficult to see when one has voted in the topic or not. Recording IP address issues

I ban a lot of users on my site. I only ban by IP address through .htaccess. However, I noticed that every time a user posts, it shows the IP address when they were registered, rather than the current IP when they are posting. Their registration IP stays with the account throughout the life of their forum activity. Which makes it quite difficult for me to ban by IP address since the IP they post is not always the same as their registration IP. Is there any way to fix it so that each of the user's posts shows the IP of where they are posting from?

Member Profiles - bit of feedback

Just a little bit of feedback about the member profile pages. For a start, I really like the profile functionality, however the way that the information is implemented coule be better (in my opinion). For example instead of having the tabs that link to information, to have that information on the page although in an abbreviated way. For example the comments section should be at the top and are way too small. Not that it should be a mess like MySpace but if it was more like Facebook it would be perfect. Okay guys, IPB's looking better and better, and I think I'm going to buy a license. But there's one problem... the forum I'm running now is myBB PR2 and there's no converter. The only thing I might be able to convert to is SMF 1.1 RC1, but I don't think there's a converter for that -> IPB either. So is there any chance of a converter for either of them? Because I'm really interested in getting a license. :) Thanks!
