I just saw something on another web site that I thought would be great and pretty easy to implement in a future version of Invision Board. On this web site: http://typophile.com/node/28658 you can see that the "Who's Online" is a grid of miniature avatars instead of the list of names that IPB currently uses. It would be great to have this option in the next version.

Updated to 2.3.4 but version 2.3.3 is showing at the footer

I successfully upgraded to version 2.3.4 without any error messages but the footer still shows version 2.3.3. In the admin section is says version 2.3.4. What went wrong?

Website and Client Center Lacking Bug Fixes / Revisions

I would just like to point out I think the main site and client center are lacking updates and bug fixes, seems like nobody its managing them. http://www.invisionpower.com/hosting/enterprise.html <-- page broken (just came upon that) I think a company should have a strong foundation and yours is slowly getting chiseled away and issues are piling up. Now I know the manpower is being put into other projects but the main site and client area is important too. Feature Suggestion for Next Version of IPB

This is something I thought of after I sent in a ticket request the other day asking about custom profile fields. My question was that the max length is not adhered to by the script and how it returned an odd error. For those that are unaware of this, if you create a field with a max character length of 10, the maximum length of the text area will not be 10. But if the value is more than 10 it would return an error. Since there is a lot of AJAX programming now in IPB I hope that maybe they would consider implementing something like this in the next version of IPB: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/de...tion/index.html The little check mark could go a long way…

I just recently thought of this. I have noticed many times where there are users on these forums asking for help who are not customers themselves but rather they are moderators or administrators on an IPB. Maybe something that would be good would be a more advanced alternate contacts system where the Account Administrator (individual/entity who paid for and owns the license) would have a setup almost like the permissions settings from IPB which would allow maybe one alternate contact the ability to send in ticket requests, while others it would only allow them to access the customer only forums for basic assistance on how the boards work so that way they could be asked …

I think there should be an area showing everyone suspended, everyone totally banned, everyone with posting rights taken away, everyone who needs to be moderator previewed, etc... If not, maybe I will make it myself, but it sure would be nice becuase then I won't forget if I suspended people for x days and could change my mind and lower it.

I called Invision yesterday because I was at my wit's end trying to navigate the overwhelming amount of information that comes with starting a new board. I literally felt as though it was hopeless. Solved "Out of Memory" error

A client on a VPS repeatedly had issues installing IPB, as he would receive "Out of Memory" errors regarding the XML class, at the step where it imports style images. As it turns out, the xml file in upload\ipb\resources\ipb_images-pro.xml.gz had at least half a dozen references to thumbs.db (apparently whomever packaged IPB for release was on an XP machine... ha). Each reference to thumbs.db was a friggin huge entry, as each entry is a large binary blob. Anywho, removing those pointless thumbs.db references in the xml file (then moving the xml file into the .gz file, then re-uploading the .gz file and re-running the failed step) fixed the client's issues. i've heard, that IPB last versions have problems with IPv4 i'm sorry, i don't know anything about i-protocols... but i've heard some guys have a ipb 2.2.2. version and it doesnt work, and show this one - Could not determine your IP address they works only if page is refreshed and they need to refresh it all the time, if not, then this notice is up again. (and its not in localhost) whats the problem?

Probably something more for 3.0 if its considered at all... Id like to see two improvements to the calendar (after today i had to enter about 30 or so events for this year got me thinking) 1 > Preview button on the add event screen please ;) 2 > Maybe some kind of possibility to import events (.csv maybe ?) :unsure: (as it would be easier imo when bulk importing events to have some kind of easy to edit document) , ACP only would be ok i think as only admins would be wanting to bulk import. ;)

I have purchased hosting, which came with a IPB lisence from IPS. So why do I not have access to the customer forums? This is the login I use for the client area and i've tried logging out and back in to see if that made any difference. Help!

I saw at Wikipedia, the next IPB is called IPB 3.0. I'm looking forward on it, but I have some questions: 1. Will IPB 3.0 still be a paid forum? 2. Will IPB 3.0 cost not so much as it is now? 3. Will it have a multiple linsence? 4. Will it be even more easy to use? 5. Will it still have a free convertion for some existing forums? 6. Will it also be easy to mod? 7. ACP Home > Member Management Home > Edit Member > Show all IP addresses On this screen there is a column for "Used for other Reg." but it would be very useful to have another column "Used by other members". Currently we need to go through every IP used to get this info unless they used the IP to register.

Hi, I run PHPBB 3.0.B5 (beta 5 version) forum and I wonder if it is possible to convert my phpbb beta 5 version to IP.Board 2.3. Of course, everything should be converted (about 8,500 posts, 800 users, their accounts, passwords, pm's etc. - everything). I saw some issues with passwords for phpbb 3 rc1 (http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?...23623&st=20) which were resolved and so I guess that a converter for phpbb 3.0.B5 could be done as well. BTW, when do you plan to update your IP.Board 2.3 to 3.0? Thanks for your response in advance. ps: my mails could not be delivered to sales@invisionpower.com neither to billing@invisionpower.com
