Reorder Forums

I don't know if there is a way to do this already, if there is PLEASE let me know: When you want to reorder a set of forums, why must you reorder all of the subforums along with the main forums? It's so time consuming, I want all my subforums to stay the same... and just reorder the main forums on the page. Like now I have to do it, and if I want to do it I have to go through about 300 forums + subforums, and there's no reason that should be the case. When you are reordering a set of forums, you shouldn't have to worry about the subforums attached to each one. Do people know what I"m talking about? lol

Pin / Un-pin Time?

Much like the Open/Close time, how about a Pin/Un-Pin time for threads which are important for a little while but not necessarily important/relevant after a set amount of time. (Sometimes these ideas just pop into my mind. ;))

Embedded Videos 1 2

Isn't it about time to consider moving embedded videos (i.e. Youtube, Google Videos, LiveLeak, etc.) into the base product? I can embed videos on a MySpace page without a degree in php, so I should be able to do it in IPB forums too. The mod is nice, but it gets trashed with every update. Videos are all the rage on the Internet, so it's time for forum software to reflect this reality. I hope Invision considers adding this feature to the base product in a future release.

IPB3 release?

I know asking this kind of question whist a product is in devlopment is hard to give an answer to, but on my board we're about to start some major script / skin enhancements. Of course, we dont want to invest 'x' amount o time to need to re-write our code to fit with the new version, so i ask so we can perhaps postpone our development till the new version is out (in beta or full release) Also, will the beta version be encoded like most IPS products in beta stage? If so, will there be enough un-encoded code for us developers to see? Thanks guys.

For example you add a new field to the register page which is a required field, so old members hasn't filled it probably. So when they log in they will get a message that will force them to update it, and they will be unable to continue posting untill they update it.

Member List/Profiles

I want to be able to display profiles for my members on my IP board, but I don't want the members to have access to the whole member list. As it is now configured, if I hide the member list from my members, they can't use the profiles. I would find it *very* helpful if you made those two separate things. Thanks for your consideration!

Hey! Fantastic news about Invision 3.0 developments!...I'm absolutely over the moon that you are including Search Engine Friendly URL's as standard. Absolutely fantastic. It will be very interested to see what else you have planned, and if any suggestions members have made will be taken on board. Much like you have done for previous versions of IPS Products, are you planning Video Previews over the coming weeks/months? :) Just to keep us salivating.. :D

I'd like the ability to search the board by topic starter (checkbox after 'match exact name' -> "is topic starter" maybe) and assuming there's a PM search in 3.0, also search PMs by sender.

Suggestion for Announcements

It would be nice if there was a "Preview Announcement" option, similar to a "Preview Post". (Yes, I know you can post them without being enabled. However,) It is unnecessarily tedious to have to go back and forth between viewing the announcement and making updates. Right now the "work around" solution would be to actually use a topic or post reply window until I'm satisfied with the result, then cut and paste into an announcement. I believe this has been suggested before, but I'd like to add that having folders to organize announcements would be great too.

License Expiration

Earlier today my IPB license expired. Now, don't get me wrong, I intend to renew it once I have more money, but right now, I'm just unable to do so. Anyhow, I realized that upon its expiry (and had this confirmed by IPS,) I'm no longer able to download the most recent version while my license was still active (in this case, 2.3.5.) Hello, I'm running a forum which users are allowed to have images in their about me pages. Just lately I have found that users are uploading images the size of 2000x2000px (yes that size). I sent in a support ticket (#511401) and Jason told me that I could turn it off all together What I think we need is a max image size setting in IPB3 What do you think?

Custom Profile Improvements

Can we make all member options integrated into the custom profile options. Kinda like how all bbcode has been moved into the custom bbcode manager. I'm sure new options are coming to it but i'd like to see regex format added into it too and the ability to have one or more drop menus (e.g. for doing b'dates ).

Hi, There are a lot of .NET developers who are also forums admins. Some of them (like me and more) are admins of IPB forums When a .NET developer wants to develop a modifictaion for a PHP forum, it's kind of problem - especially if he wants to do it with one of the .NET languages. When I developed a .NET modifiction for IPB, there were a lot of problems with complex solutions in PHP (like the nusoap.php class). I think that if IPS will provide an option to import an asmx webservice and to display the value which returned from it, it's going to be a big easing, because all of us know that .NET developer prefers to develop a modifiction in .NET and not in PHP. Perpetual IPB and Gallery license

I was just thinking about my support status and always keep my IPB support paid, even though I have a perpetual license and forever access to upgrades... however, I was just looking at my downloads in customer area and notice I cannot download uppgrades, even though I originally purchased in when perpetual licenses were issues... is this correct?... because the download link has always been there before.

Global find/replace needs to be added to IP.Board

I'm a bit of a grammar freak, so I find myself going through every single language template in IP.Board to change all instances of "email" to "e-mail," or all instances of "username" to "user name," for example. But for the life of me, I've never found any simple tool in IP.Board to do this for me. This is in vBulletin and I think even phpBB 3. This is something that could be added to IP.Board 3, could it not? I can't imagine it being all that difficult. Just make some sort of simple script that will search every available template for one string of text and then it replaces all those strings with whatever you want.
