Using opera, it appears Sphinx is broken, rendering these forums main feature that I use, useless. Couldn't search to check if this had already been posted.. cos.. well... the search system is broken.

Hi All, Till 3.0.5, when i enter facebook and share a link from my board....it let's me choose an image to be the "information avatar" from a maximum of 5 images facebook found in my topic link. Now, with 3.1.0, and the improved facebook integration. He dont let me choose anymore...he simple uses the meta_image.png . I wanna know if there's any way to choose what use. Will be very nice if we have an option to choose between the meta_image.png or the previous system....cause sometimes is much better use an image inside the topic. And sometimes could me interesting override all with a meta_image. Ty in Advance. Ara

BUG: #23898 After use buildInDev.php for a new skin all master templates contains "<!--no data in this master skin-->" and after set 'inDevDefault' in 'masterMap.php' to 'newskin' we have a blank page instead of forum... Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

In an effort to make custom fields more friendly and more easily open to newer chat mediums, there should be an extra field in the profile fields configuration for how to display/format the data when shown on the persons profile. Also, there should be field 'types' available that do the same thing. The way it works now is that mediums such as AIM and MSN are hard coded into the skin templates. If something ever needed to be changed, then it would need to be changed not only in one skin, but many custom skins as well. With this other method, simply changing it within the custom fields section will fix it in all skins on the board. Per custom field, add another settin…

after hitting my head against this feature it turns out that it not fully baked. You can create custom profile fields - Great! You can create custom groups for these fields - Super! When you look at a users profile this group is displayed - Perfect! When you are user editing your profile - is far from perfect, there is NO concept of your custom GROUP! instead fields are sorted if it is 'REQUIRED' or 'OTHER' So your carefully thought out fields organized in groups have ZERO organization for the user filling in the fields - its just a pool of fields with really no organization. Not sure if this is the right place but my forum won't allow tags to work for certain groups. Instead of a pic coming up it just says [ img]link to the pic, Anyone know how to fix this?

Just noticed that unless I'm blind, you can't see a persons display name history within the ACP (manage members). Also, would be nice to have access to their FB information. At least, to be able to wipe it away (dis-associate the accounts), as well as with Twitter. Something that lets you know the account is (or isn't) associated, with a menu that shows up to let you disconnect it (if it is associated).

Pretty much the only vb feature I find useful which isn't in IPB is the instant search that happens when you've finished typing a topic title. That way if a similar topic already exists you MAY notice it there and not need to then make your new topic.

Hello all, When i search for topics using the "search" option, and i find them. I want to move them to another section. I cant do that if i find the topics using search on the site. Topic Moderation doesnt include "move topics" ? How can i move topics that i found using search ? I have to move alot of them and searching for them manually isnt done. Please help. Cypher

I think it would be nice if you click your messenger not only are the proper rows in that table updated, but also notifications be updated as read also where if any of your notifications were PM messages they aren't included in the number anymore once you've been in your messenger. As it is now you must click both numbers to get them reset to zero.

For anyone who feels personally offended about having to wait for payments to be validated/approved, it happens for everyone, even long time existing customers. Sometimes payments go through and take several hours to be approved and other times, like today, it happens in the blink of an eye. Paid via PayPal, got an email at 18:10 telling me of the transaction. At 18:14, got an email from IPS informing me that my packages have been renewed. Talk about fast. :)

Essentially two things I'd like to see improved upon in the future 1) Sub Version Handling - Currently if you throw a version into the file and run the IPS Version checker it does NOT really support non-numerical sub versions. Since I customize a few scripts for logging and what not if I change the version from 3.1.1 to 3.1.1b the version checker returns no version. 2) SMTP Mail (using SMTP instead of PHP) This is more of a bug, but I'd really like to see better built in logging capabilities for this (The only way to do this right now is to use some custom written ClassEmail that Bfarber wrote back around 3.0.3) as well, IPS should not think the server name …

I was checking out the ImgBurn forum at http://forum.imgburn.com/ , and from the main page, did a search for "Ask toolbar" (with surrounding quotes) in the search box at the top right of the page. It said there were 32 results, and indicated there were two pages, but the first page only shows 15 results and the second page has no results. Any idea why ? This is not my site, but as I use IPB I wanted to know if this was a bug in IPB 3.1.1 ?

1.I run a IPB3.1.1 forum. I have the mobile skin inplace . 2. User love the status update on the PC version. But when they use the mobile skin, they cannot find a place to update status. 3. The new generation users twitter and facebook status update on the move. Not able to status update in the mobile skin seems to be a feature-flaw.

Support Ticket response, posted in this area on IPB support request. We have a problem with persons registering dozens of obscene names to disrupt the board. These names show on the bottom of the board in the area 'Newest Member' and are visible to all site visitors, even thought they have not verified their email address and been Admin approved. Can it be set that new members only show in that area once approved by admin? I had some feedback at my forum. Someone indicated that they would like the "view posts" selection from the profile page present the posts as something scrollable. Instead, it posts it as a run on block that isn't scrolling frame. They are aware of the "view my content" feature but they felt that this "view posts" feature could be improved with scrolling. (Also, I got some feedback requesting the return of the "back to top" buttons on each post.)

Is there an easy way to get a list of birthdays for the month? I list all the upcoming birthdays for my monthly newsletter each month. Currently I go to the calendar and copy and paste the names from the calendar to my newsletter. Is there an easier way to get a list of names by month?

Members currently don't have the ability to choose whether their profiles are viewable by all visitor, by only their friends, or by only members. I can't understand why this feature has not been included; it's so basic and essential.
