Dynamic Poll

It would be cool if there was a special "Other" option in the poll system that allowed other users to add their own items to the poll. Lets say a user was asking "what is the best software for x". He could put a couple options in the poll (or none) but have an "Other" option where a user could add that option (the name of the software). Then when someone else comes along they can vote for that newly added option. What's nice about this is it makes polls more specific. You don't have to wade through posts to tally up the "other" options. If a user has a suggestion that isn't on the list it can be added by them, and then voted on by other users.

When IP.Board 3.0 came out, I worked hard on making sure I could convert as many of my old mods to the new setup, and seeing if they could all be done with zero file/skin edits. I was largely successful, but even at the point we're at now with the 3.1 series getting ready to be replaced, there are several old mods of mine I still have no means of upgrading. Hi, Are Social groups going to be a feature in version 3.2? Social groups is 1 of the most wanted feature, and as Invision Power focuses on community building, I think Social Group plays an important role in community building / forums. Thank you.

I would like to see more interactive with IPS staff and the community. A good part of a question and answer part would be helpfully to answer many questions about products and upcoming release. Pretty much now that the change of forums, you post something in the help area you could get a reply back from an person on the forums or someone from IPS. I seen many threads go unanswered cause nobody reply to it for whatever reason. Of course Devs. can't answer every question but before when the forums were Staff vs Peer to Peer, a person got more of a reply on the Staff forums support. It just there seems a line that is not cross a lot that only get cross when there "New" info…

Navigation Menus Control

Maybe allowing people to have control of the navigation menu so they can add or take away some navigation they want then to go in to each application and turn off or on what they want to see. Currently you get what you get and you can't do much about it with out doing some coding to change things. An interface to allow to do this may be a good idea.

Archiving images for posterity. Image preview stored?

Preserving images in posts is important for forum history. I wish there was a way to archive linked images, sort of like the way google image search works. An image preview is displayed in the post and stored in the db. If you click it you see the original. If it is missing, the preview still shows in the post. I am aware using attachments solves this, but I want to offer both, most people use image hosts even if they have attachments enabled. I posted this in feedback because I would love to see something like this, if it is possible. If anyone has any ideas please post. Would be good when we could categorize metatags. Now when I use hundreds of metatags, it's mess. But when I could to create some categories, for forum, for gallery, for blog etc., I could better control my meta tags.

I could not find a topic for that and i also could not find a plugin for that, so... What do you guys think about an individiual forum start where every user (registered or other defined user group) is able to customize which forums and sub forums he/she wants to see and in which order (editor mode with drag&drop like in the ACP forum area)? ... Good idea or would this be to heavy for caching mechanism and/or the load on larger boards?

Unapproved posts and topics idea

I was cleaning my board and going through every category, approving or deleting unapproved posts, and then I thought to myself, why isn't there an easier way? My moderators tend to unapproved posts, rather then delete them, also when I come across a spammer, I flag them which unapproved all posts. My suggestion would be a section in the mod panel or something, where you can list every unapproved post and thread in one list, maybe have a preview of the post etc, or is there already a feature like this? I just think its annoying to need to go through every category :) To the staff, any idea when I'm getting taken off the "Require moderator approval" list?

In the profile comments system, if user A comments on user B's profile - B gets a notification But I have loads of people who reply on their OWN profile comments, so B replies to A using B's profile comment the result is A has no idea there is a reply Please can you do something to alleviate this in 3.2 ?

NOTE: I have never made a complete full custom skin myself. I saw the guide and yeah I just never finished. There is one thing I have learned to live with and that is the skinning system of IPB. I don't love it and at first hated it. Now I have been using it for almost a year and my opinion is changed. It does have good template logic +1. All my users are getting this message when trying to enter the Chat: [#CSTART-6] The IP.Chat room limit has been reached. You will not be able to join the chat room until some users first leave. There are 0 members in there and we're entitled to 50. Tried to raise a support call for this but everytime I try to I get told I haven't selected a package (even though it doesnt give me an option to select a package). Dislike this new interface intensely! :(

I know this probably won't make it into 3.2 if you accept it, and maybe not even 3.3 if it will exist, but I say that it is a much needed feature. The front end of the forums can be extended with hooks, and so are all of the applications. However, there is one part of the forum that cannot be changed without file edits... The ACP (Admin Control Panel) can only be changed with new applications (and settings etc with hooks), but the general layout stays the same. It has no hooks as such, and cannot be skinned without file edits (as far as I know!) Please, at least think about implementing this. I don't care if it doesn't make it until even IPB 5, as long as it happens…

Another neat feature would be Block certain forums from View New Content (configured in UCP). I cannot believe how long forums in general have went on without having such a basic feature. Having admin decide which forums are blocked in VNC for every member is just not flexible. Nobody wants to waste time staring and filtering the VNC results only for those topics which are from forums which you are interested in. There should be per group permission how can block forums from VNC, also there should be indication which forums cannot be blocked by members. Its that easy and that simple that its genius. :whistle:

I'd need some of kind hook, which could allow to put code below copyright on every page on board. Something like hook for Google Analytics. This feature could be implemented in the next version. I use one specific service (similar to Google Analytics) and it has the visible code. I could use Ad Code Integration but this feature doesn't give code below copyright but above. I don't want this.
