Right now, users can follow "normal" forums for new topics. However, they can't follow "category" forums -- i.e. follow all posts in the category's subforums. We'd like an easy way to do that. Maybe we could add a Follow button to the Category. We'd probably expect to manage these on the Manage Followed Content page. About Categories In our Invision Community, we have a lot of smaller forums that are categorized via a parent forum configured with Type = Category, as shown below. Unlike "Discussions" and "Questions" forum types, there's no way to Follow a Category.

Hi all, we noticed that there is the Allowed file types option with the allowed file extensions, there's a way to maintain all file types but just exclude a couple? (The non-Allowed File Extensions 🙂) Hi

Cross-posting of articles as forum topics functionality currently has some issues - The entire article body along with a link to the original article is cross-posted into topic (the link to article will show the exact same full body content). Cross-posting the entire article body may get penalties from search engines for duplicated content. It is perfectly fine to post a link+snippet to another content in SEO terms. The content in the forum topic can also go out of sync if the original article is modified which is not graceful. A new option may be provided to post just an excerpt/snippet OR the full article body (current default) along with the link to the article…

Suggestion - If you have a lot of blocks you have created over the years, it would be cool to see in ACP if they are being used or not (can they be deleted). I am at fault for having too many unused blocks...🤪

I've noticed with Google Core Web Vitals that my Invisible reCAPTCHA gets loaded with post before registering and reduces my overall PageSpeed score. Granted, lots of the native JS and CSS is already slowing things down, but everything can help, especially since speed on mobile is a ranking factor. I can shut this setting off and stop it, but am concerned about getting flooded. Just a suggestion, but maybe remove reCAPTCHA loading on the page/editor and have it load on the registration form after you click submit reply instead, this way the page doesn't take the load/hit.

Not a major issue as I approve accounts manually, it’s just the past couple weeks we have had a shed load of spam registrations from Russia, Holland and Finland. Hosted at IPS community in the Cloud, not made any changes to captcha or security, but we’re getting maybe 5+ a day, sometimes 10. Is there something wonky going on, my first obvious step is to change up the Q&A. Just wasn’t sure if there was a known issue at all?

As far as i can see, a deleted user will always be a guest, but with more and more deleted users, you can't understand threads any longer, where a few different deleted accounts seem to talk to themselves. Adrianos plugin does that quite fine. And it is often not a good idea to have username used twice by different users. Thanks.

Users can see topics posted by other users? I have this enabled. After create a topic by me as admin, this topic no anyone can see it. Any way that let me add specific member into that topic? Or plugin that let me change the topic starter? Then when the user go to my club discussion sesion will see that topic created.

While you are working on Pages … If the Media section remains as it is, it seems to have performance issues. I have one installation where WordPress content got imported, ending up with around 300 images in the media section. Opening the media page takes forever and can even crash the browser. It tries to load all 300 hi-res images at once. I also can’t get around that and do something else like creating a new folder, because that doesn’t stop loading the images. Other queries seem problematic too, like just opening a folder in that section. Even if it is empty it can take 45 seconds to open on that installation with 300 images in other folders. That shou…

On this field there should also be an option for "posted by anyone EXCEPT [blank]" The goal of this is that I'm trying to clean up single post threads. However, since I also use my forums to store Article comments, I don't want to bork the comment sections of those articles. Since only about 5 of us ever post articles, I could put that list in the delete-excluding field and that would effectively skip an article that got no comments.

I might be missing something in the AdminCP, but it would be great to have the option to allow certain usergroups to upload particular file types/extensions to the community. At present, there's a global option in ACP to allow users in general to upload files (and further set which filetypes they can upload). I use this to forbid regular users from uploading non-video/image files (like .zip or .exe files). But I would like the option for only Administrators to be able to upload .zip files to Downloads app (and other areas of the site), and there doesn't seem to be a way for me to do that. I trust the zip files I upload for my community, but I don't trust regular user…

Hi IPB Team & Community ^_^ As images are essential part of forum topic it would be great if uploading of topic images and resizing would be more optimal Right now it is quite hassle for first time user of website. As admin or Moderator we all know how to upload image and resize but for first time user it is quite unfriendly. In core->front->clubs->view: {{if isset( $fieldValues[ "field_" . $field->id ] )}} does show the field caption even if its value is empty. If the check would be: {{if !empty( $fieldValues[ "field_" . $field->id ] )}} then it would not show the fields on the club page if they are not filled.

A normal gamification system should contain points, score, achievement badges and trophies and also a leaderboard. This is today part of the bases for the development of the forum (making the site more attractive and more interactive) We should perhaps also look at the methods of the games to get involved because I have seen people like to connect to their games in order to take their "virtual gift" because of the number of points. The question is also whether the should be based solely on participation in the forum. Being able to give points for participation in a calendar event, for success outside the forum, and also in third party applications. …

Make a latest event widget include the picture of the event. Now all widgets that I can find do not show event images... which is suitable when community is not build around events.. or at least events is not a big part of it. It would be great to have widget looking just like now the Events of the month are shown in Events index page on Browse By Month widget.

Hello, when creating a gallery category there is no way to set a category cover for it. It is only possible from what I discovered by creating said category. Then creating an album, uploading the cover image as a picture and set it as a category cover then HIDE the album. Way too complicated. A picture that should be a category cover does not mean it should be a part of an album inside it. Just like you allow to set covers for Forums - do the same for Gallery categories. Thank you.

Having asked about this, I'm submitting it here as feedback. 🙂 It'd be great if there was a way to link to the Online Events and/or Physical Events in the calendar. Example: I'm trying to create a button on my front page that leads to just the Online Events in the calendar. If I search for online events only, it brings up results -- but that link only seems to be good for a limited time. It'd be great if there was a permanent URL for the two types of events in the calendar. Thanks!

When downloading/exporting a Pages custom database in ACP the database key field should be included in the XML file. When importing a database XML file with 4.7.15, a random imported_XXXX key is always set because the original is not included. I find it extremely annoying I have to remember to rename it every time I move a database from production to live. When importing the database, if the database key is already used, only then it should be set to a random imported_XXXX one (or rather original_db_key_XXXX to start with the same original key). I consider it a bug, but I'm posting a Feedback topic since it can be seen either way.

Hello Invision Team, IPS should give an option to add invisible re CAPTCHA in the login form. In countries like India Security agencies don't give the clearance without this. This is highly recemented by them. I request to provide this in next update. This is my experience why government agencies avoid to use Invision Community as a CMS for their websites.

Hi all, we had and have spammers who try to abuse the homepage link ("Website URL") or the "About me" section, i.e. profile fields, for link stuffing and unsolicited advertisement - which is spam. Marking the spammer using the built-in function hides the posts and threads but not the profile fields or the member profile itself. Suggestion is to hide the entire content of a spammer after being marked so. Regarding the profile fields specifically: Either the profile field content should be removed (A) or the entire profile should be set to hidden except for the Mods & Admins (B).
