Hello, as a new application developer on the IPS platform I am attempting to run through the example provided in Anatomy of a controller located here. I have added an example module to the core app and within that module I have added a example controller. I'd like to remove the follow button from sections in my forum. When I look in the themes I see a tab for it (Attaching screenshot) but am not sure what I need to delete. Do I just need to remove the HTML in the followbutton tab ?

Can someone point me to a guide on how to create tables in a database template for 4.1 in Pages? I upgraded from 3.4 to 4.1 and when looking at all my databases now, the formatting is all screwed up and not in table format anymore like I had originally. I know html fairly well but I'm new to how to creating templates to pull information from the database for IPB.

Any recommendations for how to best implement the ability to restrict the number of records a member can submit to a custom CMS database? I'm looking at possibly a code hook, but I'm not sure the best method to override. The use case is certain member groups being able to submit records to a database, but each member in the group can only submit 1 record. I want to make sure they can't submit multiple records or edit any records but their own.

Upgraded to 4.1 a few months ago and things have gone well. however I just added a new forum for "help" tickets and I want it accessible to guests. However when I go to permissions the box to "see forum" is not active for guests... I cant click it in permissions. The category the forum is in IS viewable to guests but not this new forum. The old converted forums under the same category ARE viewable to guests. Why cant I set a new forum to be seen to guests??

I want to add some notes on how search works to the search page. Rather than hardcode it into the template, I thought I'd create a new word key. However I cannot figure out how to do that. I can see how to edit or translate existing items, but not create a new one - not on the default language, nor on a new one I created. So how do I create a word key, say search_notes, that I can then include in a template as {lang="search_notes"} Or do I need to create a plugin or go into Developer Mode or something?

Can anything be done with page jumping in Safari on pages with embedded content? My site sees a lot of embedded tweets, sometimes 5 or 6 on one page, can be a nightmare watching the page bounce up and down like crazy. I understand this isn't so much an IPS but a Safari issue, hopefully Apple will put a fix out when the new iOS and OSX are released later this year with Google Chrome addressing the issue with built in scroll anchoring. Was just wondering if there was anything at all as in a temporary bodge it add this to your css fix other than disabling embeds or sending everyone over to Chrome?

Hello, For now, I am not allowing Sign In users with Twitter and Facebook accounts. I want to put this feature, but I have several questions: 1.- When someone Sign In via Twitter or Facebook, is an user account automatically created with their data? 2.- If someone is already registered with IPS system, and now Sign In with Twitter or Facebook, a new account is created and then the user will have two: one created through IPS and now another because he accessed with Twitter or Facebook ?

My forum is located on dedicated server, everything works just fine there, the server is not loaded at all, but... When I simply try to reply in some thread, or start a new topic, or even send a message in PM - it takes from 20 to 50 seconds to do that. There are just a hundred or so topics on that forum, so I don't understand why does it work so slow??

Wondering if I had a second copy of IPB could I have it connected to the same database as my main site but running from a different URL? Would that work? Goal is to have downloads running from 1 URL and the rest of the site on another. This way I can use cloudflare for most of my site but have it bypass downloads (avoiding the 100MB Cloud Flare limitations) Anyone know??

My users are asking if we can enable a full screen button on embedded tweets which contain videos. Is this possible? I'm not aware of any setting in the ACP, so wondered if whatever IPS file contains the twitter embed information can be user tweaked to enable this button. Assuming Twitter embedding supports it, although that does seem to be the case on Wordpress.

I have the image proxy setting enabled but I'm still getting a mixed-content warning on this page. https://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/topic/15542-whiteout/ The remote image is still being loaded from another domain instead of cached on our server. Why?

I've kinda borked my embeds. Been experiencing jumpy pages with multiple twitter embeds which I couldn't replicate when looking at other sites using the same software. I had restrictions on which limited embeds to 800px. I removed this thinking it could somehow be the magic trick that would fix it. Does seem to behaving a bit better now. But, a member just reported a login issue when using Chrome, I use Safari myself across all devices. On opening Chrome I noticed all twitter embeds were showing as blank posts prior to this change. I've nailed the issue down to this class ipsEmbeddedOther_limited inside the div. Remove and the tweet loads fine. I know…

The green ribbon that was "awarded" when a post got enough positive reputation has been replaced in 4.2 by a heart - and I would prefer to have the ribbon back - is there a way of changing that?

What I want Url 1 to access normally Url 2 - I will call in mobile app .. no one knows abt tis url - it may be a short url and this will be used for web view in mobile phone... ---------------- There will be two different themes - one with ads and one without ads I do not want to show ads when called from mobile app Rest when it open in mobile browser or desktop it will be url 1 with ads and in url 2 it will be without ads in mobile app (adsense are not allowed in mobile app )
